Truth be told, I was expecting this picture ot be a royal pain. xD He didn't have picture refs, he gave tons and tons of detail that I thought I'd have to wade through to figure anything out... I had this sinking feeling he was going to be super picky and irritating throughout the whole process.
Turns out he was actualy pretty cool about it. x3 Made things go smoothly and easily, was pretty much happy with everything I did. Made drwing this a lot more fun than it may have been otherwise.
I just hope he's as okay with the colouring as he as with the rest of it. I had trouble deciding just what to do with who, as all I had was refs of the actual animals, but I did my best with them and hope I got at least relatively close. x3
Let me know if there's any mistakes that I can fix. :3 Oh, also I think the scan may have come out a bit dark, but I'm not sure. SOoo, if it looks a bit dark, that's why x3

A desert jeroba. Crazy little creatures. http://katebowenpowwow.files.wordpr.....jerboajump.jpg
That's probably about what I'd do with it too, as something to do when waiting for paint to dry or for responses from people. There's certainly no rush, I trust you to finish it so as long as it gets done, certainly doesn't have to be supafast. x3
What have you got in mind?

Well, I use this nifty little program called paper, and when you put things like graphite or paint pigments on it, it can start to create some interesting effects... x3
Sorry, I'm just always amused when people ask me what program I use to draw :P I'm a purely traditional artist, all I do with computers is scan. I'm afraid I can't help you much in the areas of digital art.

oops my bad its fine i didnt realize or even think on that damnit heres what i should now go and do im so retarded fuck i should have known http://media.photobucket.com/image/.....tc/RAAAAGE.png
My advice to you would honeslty be to not worry about it. The most important thing is to enjoy the drawing itself. If you draw things you enjoy, and enjoy the drawing itself, then improvement will come of itself over time. If you're purely worried about improvement though, and making an awesome picture, you'll just get frustrated and quit. Nobody starts good at anything, it takes a long time and a lot of work to get "good" at things. So don't worry if you're not awesome right off the bat- just have fun doing it, and that'll make you keep doing it, and if you keep doing it enough, you'll naturally start to improve. Practice and study and such also help, naturally, but if you're not enjoying drawing you won't do those either.
So, in conclusion, just draw and have fun doing it, that's really all it takes :P

This is it! This is my image of Pamras and Pinyin, my two "priest" characters!
I knew I scared you with that monstrous beast of a desc, but I've always given lots of detail. The one thing I never do, and something you found out, is make myself a stickler for those details. Or at least not an annoying one.
They were, and still are, reference material for the artist. Things to go back over and say, "Hmmm, I wonder if that would work?" I had my vision of what he looked like, but if you'd been inspired by something I'd given and wanted to try something else, I'd have given my blessings with joy.
And look how this turned out!
I will be placing this in a position of honor in my new home.

I've written a bit of story to go along with this?
Pinyin had been flying for nearly three days before he reached the edges of the Great Desert. It had been an inland sea a thousand years ago, but there was a great and terrible war. The Ayeen, or rabbit people had fled to their last stronghold, an island in the middle, and tried to hold out against the predatory Ranigar, or wolf tribes. As a last-gasp effort, the Ayeen cracked the earth beneath the sea, and it all drained in single day.
The Ranigar ships had been sucked down, killing all onboard and sparing the Ayeen refugees. The sea became a desert, and this is what he now had to cross.
