The good Captain had a non-animated TV show of his own back in the late 80's, and 3 book collections of his adventures. Once I got the money, software and time, I'm gonna animate him....he's good, clean fun, y'know?

The three Norns, Urdur, Verdandi og Skuld (very roughly, Past, Present and Future) were the arbiters of fate for man and God in Norse mythology. Three Norns Incorporated are not the original Norns, but they're formidable witches and businesswomen.

everybody stole it from everybody else - the 3 Furies, Witches, Fates, Kindly Ones, Triple Goddess is an *incredibly* widespread mythology. Just look at the Mother, Maiden, & Crone in the Discworld novels :)

And Neil Gaiman's Sandman suggests two important things about these trios. One is that whatever the name, whatever the culture, it is referring to the same feminine archetypes representing fate and the passage of time.

The other is that you don't $@#%ing mess with them.
