That lense took this pic of the moon: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/305911/ butted up to a digital camera... Just wait till I get the T mount for the Cannon XT, wich I will be getting some time soon!!! *swoons*
Maaaaan.
Nice cameras.
My friend has a Minolta she loves to death.
Me? I'm a fan of the Canon AE-1 myself.
But I want cameras like that... and a lens like that... Wow...
Although I recently bought a '94 semi-automatic Olympus camera that came with a telephoto. But not half as big as yours. I think this one is 80-200mm.
Man.
I envy your stuff.
The end. XD

I dig the 4,000mm but it is only really useable with 1000 speed or higher film, and it's dim on a 35mm, but when I get my digital SLR i'ma get the T mount for it n use it allot, seeing as the pickup will be good enough to suck all the light I need in lol. The lense is as ong as my arm, and magnisium and brass... a bitch to hold still so any photos taken with it need a tripod. Fun stuff tho :D
I like the lense on the Canoon package that is online for like 350$,. it comes with the Cannon Rebel Digital XT slr, and an 18 - 80mm lense ^o^ the minolta X-570 on the right there, has the 28 - 100 mm on it, I like it lots, I like having all the same cameras so I can swap the lenses, the only thing with the Maxxium is it needs an adaptall for the lenses but thats not a biggy. I should take more of my stuff to work ^.^
theres this one but i hear bad shit bout this site: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/305911/ and theres this one http://www.bestpricecameras.com/pro.....?prodid=215535 and theres one that comes with the 28 - 80mm for like 100 bux more.
HAHAHA OOPS wrong link at the top there, HA I mooned ya!. http://www.bestpricecameras.com/pro.....?prodid=215535 this is the one my co-worker is gonna buy like, litterally tomarrow.
http://www.bestpricecameras.com/pro.....&up=215535 the one witht he 28-80mm lense.

Seems allot of ppl get the x-570s for the same reason, lits almost like at some point in time they had a huge sale on them with lense packages at camera stores around the world cuse like everyone has the stock rokkor 55mm lense and the tameron 80-200mm, the crappy 50-100mm, and a few filters. I loves them though, all of em ^o^
I need to have manual x.x
i have no patience to control F or Focus or Speed or Shutter through lame menu in digital cameras, even with DSLR you need to go into menue to control iso and rez and dpi x.x i need focus and f on the left paw and i need shutter and speed and duration on the right paw x.x people bicker and claim Digital has better rez but i want them to take a long hard look at medium format and then come back to me x.x </end rant>

"resolution" can not be defined on film cameras but the films emulsion can pick up more variations than any digital camera, there is a digital back for medium format camera s(tethered its 20 grand, non tethered its like 45,000$) that has 40 megapixel, it still dosnt match the "megapixel" of the human eye, the human eye is over 50mp depending on the age and acid content of the eye itself but variations between peoples eyes are so vast that no one can really pin point an exact number of "pixels" that would be accurate, but ass far as they know the general numbers are 50mp/eye and most medium or large format cameras are atleast 3 times that "resolution" wich is why Nasa uses them still for taking photos in space. More zoomability (if thats a word) after the image is taken.
*smiles and wags*
not only is he anal but he's smart too ^_~
that's the most awesome and complete explanation albeit very simple and down to earth explanation of why analogue vs digital i've seen in a long time, that does not use petty "just because" or "it's easier"
you used science and real world examples :3 you sir are a winRAR!!!!!
teeheehee, the green in your icon looks a bit yellow to me x.x

Yep the silver one (the SrT201) survived many years, works like new, the one to the far right, has some battle scars but works just as good as it ever has. The inside of the silver one is impressive, pullies, strings, gears, levers, it looks like a small factory in there, lol, I almost want to buy a non working one just to take one apart again and take photos of it. It's amazing. Like, picture a pocket watch ful of tiny brass gears and flywheels, now times that by 20, that's about the extent of what's in just the top half of the 201 ^.^
Yet after all this time, it hasn't lost ANY calibration.
The thin is like a tank, made of brass.

Yeah this full-analog cameras are as precise as a good clock. My uncle have a Olympus OM-1 and it's so nice to click with that camera... Big viewfinder, solid as a tank... I'm glad to see that the film photography isn't dead yet... I love the film granulation but hate the digital noise....
There are a couple of the moon, taken before I got the adapter for my canon, I just kind of held it up to an easy share point n shoot.
I had a full folder on my actual web page of the range, but that got deleted back in the day : (
I don't usually need to ever take it anywhere so I used it like, twice.
It was ridiculous though, its a bit dark and you need to use a high film speed and low shutter speed, so whatever you shoot cant be moving too fast.
But from my grandmothers house, to Coolidge park (about 3/4 mile) there was a birch tree, and I was able to zoom in and read what was written in sharpie on the tree, a few days later I walked down there and found the tree, it had a heart the size of my hand with initials in it. I know that's no real visual of how well it works lol
I also took a shot of a wooden eagle on a house from about the same distance and I could see the paint peeling off the ball he was clutching in his feet. I will have to dig around for those pictures, sadly I have no idea where they are.
I'll have to take more when I get my lens back from the house, I just moved and everything is still kind of in different places.

http://www.furaffinity.net/view/635129/ with an easy share just looking through the tube (made a cardboard adapter and stuck it over the easy share lens and put it against the back of the 4,000mm) this was back before my t mount came in http://www.furaffinity.net/view/907904/
It's not auto focus but its pretty easy to focus, when its out of focus you can really tell.
That moon photo was just the easy share, not perfectly aligned and not even tripoded.
