Anyhoo, just practicing with inks. For some reason, lately I've been hesitant to just jump in and ink my pencils. I've gotten into the habit of scanning them and making copies before just diving in head first. So, today, I just went ahead and inked some pencils that I had laid out and this was the result. I feel a little more confident, especially since I realized that one particular pen is better than the other to use when inking.
I still need to be a little bolder with heavy black marks (as well as needing to solidify my fursona design), but, I'm getting there, little by little. For the purposes of adding color...at least in the way that I add color, this is probably better, anyway. But for just a black and white illustration, I can't be so timid as to not go even bolder But, I have time. The two black and white comics that I'll be working on will have grayscale I don't have to go super dark for now.

I really love the... no wait.. I better tell you what i don't like, for that list is way shorter - I don't like: nothing! This picture is perfectly beautiful already - i am looking forward to see her colored.
and what i like in particular is her hairstyle and - of course - her eyes. Yes i can't help it, The eyes of a character need to fascinate me, to attract me. - and believe men, HER eyes did a great job at that.

Aww, thank you! I'm still designing/redesigning her and the one thing that I didn't really like from her original design was her eyes. They weren't right at all. This is much closer to the way my own eyes look and feels more right for her, too. Maybe when I get a little time, I'll have a go at coloring her in between working on various projects.

Actually, for this piece, I just inked with a regular Sharpie pen. They're pretty good to work with for small, practice projects. Typically, I do use Microns because I like the variation in sizes they offer

btw, have you shaded the whole picture of your fursona that you use in your avatar, or only just the face for in the avatar? (I only found flat colors in your gallery)
