FURTHER REALMS
Creative Campaign 2
Episode 54:
The Phantom Premise
<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>
Sotelo and Blue, lead by Hex and Heather, arrive safely at the sacred spring of Fudgy Seel. However, unbeknowst to them, someone is watching them. Someone who fears for the worst. Someone who believes that, without his aid, something very bad may happen.
Is this mysterious stranger right? What could possibly go wrong now that our adventurers have safely brought the Grimoire of Ennui to the sacred spring? Perhaps it's nothing, but better safe-than-sorry, right...?

AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Whoops! Botched a color box. *kushi-kushi* Sorry about that.
Two fun points.
1: This is my 300th submission. Kazootles!
2: The part where Phantom discusses going by a different name in fear of Faux taking control of her is based on the premise of, in some lore, magicians and the like can gain dominance or advantage on you if they know your real name. Thus, in many cases, wizards don't tend to by their real names so that they can remain safe from this little problem. (I'm not an uber expert in these sort of things, but it's what I know and thought it worth sharing in this fine body of fictional fun.)

How cool, congratulations on the big 300! :3 So much done, and lots of writing, all made in that time. X3 Hurray!
Well this was definitely a cool chapter, I sent it to B&B too! (: It was nice seeing them together, with her figuring out what he's doing, and who he is, and with everyone finally on their way to Fudgy's spring! :3 Really exciting, I guess that's where the climactic end is going to be, with everyone aiming there!
...Huh, and I just thought of something. X3 I think the kids used some sorta water to help Avis when he was being attacked last time, maaaybe Fudgy's spring water is related to that somehow. X3 Maybe I remember wrong too, I'll have to check back, but dang I didn't consider that before!
Anyway, more possession stuff is fun, you never know who's really in control with how it switches sometimes. X3 And Phantom seems to have gotten the worse end'a the deal! D: Since it seems like she was thrown towards the scary monster, buuut the Truent battle seemed pretty sweet! :D I dunno if there'll be more focus on it but that's exciting too! (:
Here's to us all getting closer! 8D Haha, even if I've been saying it all along, it get more fun with each step since things keep developing so well! Woop woop!

*Flutters into the air* Gabby-Gaboo! I'm glad you liked how this one turned out. I've looked forward to having Phantom return for some time now. Her interaction with Cooni and Faux was something I just couldn't help but get excited about, too, as I thought about how BossBijou wrote her story and wondered, "What would happen if she actually[/i] caught up to him?" This chapter is my take on the answer and, soon, even more Phantom action will take place as she proves to be more than just the two-bit character. :) Huzzah!
And yep! Everyone is just about assembled for the big finish. We're just waiting now for Oxnard and Tealeon. And, if I know Tealeon, he's making super-duper time to catch up and make sure his boys are okay. The question is, though, will he get there in time to stop Espersona? To borrow a phrase (kinda) Duhn-Dun-Duhnnn! ;)

Thanks, Zee! To think, everyone is just about assembled for the big finish. This means no big breaks between characters showing up and, thus, truly anything can happen and anyone can make a difference. *scampers quickly in place* I've been waiting so, so long to get this far and I can hardly contain myself to write more. GABOO!
Buncha congrats on your 300th submission, that's really awesome! It's really cool you've made such a big stack of fun and creative works! :D It's an especially exciting bit of the story for it too! :) It's a neat set-up you've got going with Faux and staying in Cooni's body, and then an exciting fight scene with the dinosaur and the gray-colored man.I'm glad to get see where Faux's ended up after his run in with Fuxie! Your description of Phantom's gradual piecing together what's going on and her mounting concern really helps the reader get into their heads and feel the suspense building! And Cooni/Faux's single-minded determination really come through throughout the story, too. Lookin' forward to more of your work and to finding out how it all turns out! :)
Super Gaboo thanks as always, Bosky. Your comments are always the gold standard and, to get one, means a lot to me. :)
As for the story, I'm elated you're continuing to enjoy it. The positioning of this tale is actually to sort of occur around, or before, Nishi's Q&A[/i]. As I'm sure you've figured, the two of us have lots of fun using each other's characters toward building even better tales.
Point-of-fact, did you know Faux Farewell originally came from a one page story I wrote back in March 2009? His story was inspired by a picture Nishi did of Oxnard painting the night sky with a rainbow paint brush and, thus, I took elements of Nishi's rainbow brush and "the blind shopkeeper" to create a fun tale within the original Creative Campaign[/i]. It was Nishi who named him Faux Farewell and made him into the super awesome, psychic that he is. Being able to toss cool ideas about him back-and-forth over the past year has been gabby-gafun. :)
Sorry for the long remark, but I do so love to share fun facts. As one who enjoys Nishi's work, I thought you'd enjoy hearing more on how the talented Ham-Ham has developed his talents by being able to seemlessly interpret ideas from story-to-story to work, in near accident, with me to make two coordinating tales that, truly, work great together. However, don't need to be read together in order to be understood. :)

Oh, cool! :D Thanks a bunch for explaining all of that, it is really fun to hear! :) I remember seeing that neat pic of Nishi's, and so I'm glad you were able to turn it into such a cool character and start a cool series between the two of you! And I'm glad you like my comments too! Sorry if I'm sometimes bad or slow about writing 'em, I just get bogged down in other stuff sometimes. X3 But I'm totally reading and enjoying your story a bunch, one way or another!
*Hugs* No worries. I'm a pretty busy dino-ducky myself with lots of projects, submissions, and comments I'm behind on myself. What counts, though, is how we manage to manage our time so that no one thing ever takes more priority over any other. After all, there are lots of friends, family, and colleagues who are counting on us to keep things Gaboo! :)
It flatters me you'd take the time to go through Creative Campaign[/i]. It's a lot up to this point, but I'm very proud of what I've been able to mesh together with Nishi. As I've told him, there'd be no Creative Campaign[/i] without him as his characters fill a ton of roles within it. Being able to work with Aro, Goatella, and Sotelo have been great honors. Throwing the Q&A in was just icing on top of a super, friend-filled cake. :)
