I can imagine that it was kinda tough not being able to use certain conventions. But at the same time, it probably opened opportunities as well.
And as for my favorite part? Probably when they rammed their airship into the other one. Nothing like a desperate action to really get the blood pumping.

It was different, but I'm so used to things like radios and cell phones and such, I couldn't even use the conventional radio as it's too electronic. :) Lights I could buy as those were simple. :)
Hehe. :) Well, that seemed the fastest way to get on board, and I liked the idea of ending the ship with the series. :)

You managed to dodge the bullet twice. Originally I was planning on finishing you off in part 1, though it turned out not to be necessary as the crew and the villians never got face to face. In part 3, I contemplated it, but since the good guys could escape without really killing the villians, they had to do that. :) Of course, I did decide to go with the third villian (Tory) after all, as it seemed like an interesting direction to take. :)
*dances* :) I don't like to leave too many lose ends when I wrap up a story. :) I'm a big fan of the story arc, though of course by that same token, I leave enough open so that it's possible to pick up if one wanted to. :)
*takes a bow* Don't forget to fav! :)

I kind of thought it was necessary for one of the cast to die, as when you're at epic levels of adventure it's sometimes hard to see everyone making it without a scratch. He got to die a hero, though. ;)
I'm glad you liked Topaz, she is definitely a fun character for me to use. :) Ever since I got the suit I can really see her adorableness. :) She seemed like the perfect character to use for this, rather than one of the older ones. Who can refuse a cute little kitty?
It was fun to work with you, as always. :)

(dang teasing Zebra.....I'll get you, I will!!! *growls*)
Well, I didn't expect to escape and be a future wild card!! That's a surprise. But I seriously dislike that damned cheeky Pandemor. She thinks she's got me over a barrel, and that's a real piss off. Not to mention her killing my partner. And even calling my ship hers!!! I'm going to have to do something about her, even if it's just in my mind!!
It's a good ending. I never expected them to lose the Odyssey, but getting the Fiddle will be nice once they get it fixed up.
I see room for a lot more here. Have you thought about continuing it in the future?

(No you won't! :) Muahaha!)
Hehe. :) Well, she's got an agent in your command in Sabah, which sort of developed after I decided to bring her back for part 3. ;) *evil grin*
That sort of popped up as soon as I got them aboard, the plan was originally for them to find a way to battle the lightning weapon and get on board, but I decided it would be a good setup for the final scene of Topher in the bar. :) Plus a suitably optimistic ending. ;)
You do? Hm. I'd actually had a hard time finding a way to make it into a trilogy. Part 2 was initially the plot for part 3, but I decided it felt odd with a two parter and then a random third installment, so Kelvrin's story was pushed to the middle and I used Hallow and Liane as bookends. In any case, the idea that interested me (since I knew little of steampunk) was the end of an era story. I don't know how much more I would be able to stretch that out, even if I had the time. I guess the short answer is not really, though I wouldn't rule it out. Though as a scifi writer in general, steampunk was an exercise for me.

Sorry, I've been a little distracted. Well, I wasn't thinking of anything specific. I guess just the open-endedness of what happened to Liane and Tory and what kind of fight they could get into over who is going to be in control. How everyone gets the Fiddle up and going and particularly how Topaz electrifies it, changing over steam and mechanical devices to electrical.
I know, this isn't what you set out to do the story about, the End of Steam, but it just intrigued me that there were these other things that could continue. And of course, I have a personal interest in what happens with Liane afterwards.
I can't help but wonder and imagine. ^^

Oh yeah. I always leave things somewhat open ended so that if a good story pops it, can be continued. :) Of course if you have any ideas to pitch or whatnot you never know, but it'll be well after I finish work on the planned next two trilogies and my version 2 of my book. ;)
Odds are that Liane and Tory if they returned, might need to change their motivations, though to what I don't know. Anyhow, it was very hard trying to avoid using technology they wouldn't have had in the steam era, I gotta say. :) Hehe. :) Lighting was the closest I could believe on short notice. :)

Well, that is up to you. ;) For example, the next time you get some art with Liane and Alonira, you could commission a scene from Clockwork, though that's just a suggestion. :)
But in the movie/tv biz, those are the three reasons they continue things. Fan interest, money, etc. :)

Yep, now I have to decide if I want it to be a romantic moment or a funny moment or even when Liane gets shot....
Oops, talking to Allie as I type this and I think we may have the one.....the moment when she bursts out of hiding in the Liftin Tails Cocktail Bar and yells at Liane and Rowan..."You SKANKS!"....Allie in the ridiculous spy outfit and all! What do you think about that?

You know I was about to say I didn't understand why with 13 characters besides yours, this only had 6 faves. Then I noticed, as I was counting the characters, that I hadn't faved it. I wonder how many others just go to read it, figuring on faving it after they're done , and then forget to?
Silly! I know some folks haven't read it yet, though I do hope that everyone does sooner or later. ;) I know that I am still currently working on ideas for the dino story and the pokemon story, and I would like to try to do something more involved, though I really doubt I'll have time for that.
Though I do definitely appreciate it tons when a story is faved. ;)

Yea, I liked the characters Topaz and Enkai, they were amusing. Found the end (Part 3) a bit sporadic, probably mostly because I read fast and was tired. I more expected them to stay around and help rebuild or start a company, but I guess they could do as much good travelling in the new airship.
Yeah, I usually like to leave enough open so that I could continue the series if the right idea came up.
That was a tough call, though ultimately I decided that it made more sense overall to write out Jake's character in the storyline. Shayzo was too important to the plot, and I couldn't see getting rid of Topher, though I could see giving Jake a hero's death which makes his role in part 2 and 3 stronger as a result. Though of course with me a character being written out does not mean it's their end, but I felt it was the right move.
I did enjoy working with him. :)
