definitely worth the wait! what a nice and curious character design, so very steampunk! looks like he got caught in a weird accident, or maybe he's a refuge of the war? the artifical parts look so awesome, I really need to flesh out things some more... also, very interesting fur colours. like a southerner (blue fur colours) met with a desert dweller (yellows and reds). :)

I'd love to read his story, and you may as well post it. ^^ I can try and scan it for you, too, if you wish. maybe my scanner can handle it better? ^^

As for his color those were my thoughts exactly! I read that they sometimes interbredd between the different races and i thought to my self...OOHH!! FUN! Plus, I noticed no one had made a character with spots and well...I love blue :3 and I think I will post his story too...it was so much fun coming up with him i got lost in it :D And that'd probably be best..i'm going to take a few photos with my dads camera and see if I can get a better shot. :)

I have not yet decided which colours would be dominant, I guess it's either the mother's or the father's colouring. I don't want them to end up in uniform colours one day. :)
there are characters with spots around, but most have stripe-y coats. either way, it's a very interesting colour scheme, a real individual! I love that! too many generic fuzzy people around...

the colours come from their environment: white is for northeners, whcih live in permafrost areas with lots of snow and light-coloured rock formations; most have blue or purple markings. green is for the forest people, yellow and red come from deserts and savannahs. dark green live in dense jungles, and the blue people live in the far south, where blue-ish rocks give them better camouflage. ^^
a long string of war-like conflicts made them wander around lookign for peace, and they of course ended up interbreeding. so there are some colour combinations others would deem odd, or even eye-endangering. :)

I sure jacques would be deamed extremely odd xD with all his cyber things xD I'm afraid when you said steampuk I got all excited and maybe went alittle too outta hand xD and honestly i wasnt 100% sure which traits would be dominent in fur color and such..At first I was thinking about making him albino...but desided otherwise.. The fact that you put so much effort into their species helped a great deal though! Specially with the whole war thing..i'm not sure what kind of weapons they use, but i did notice you hand a gun in at least one of the pictures..so i assumed explosives were probably in this war..and just kinda ran with it :)

and yes..if a good picture of it doesnt work..hopefully your scanner will do a better job :P

well, at least he had the funds to have these parts made for him, not everyone is so lucky. :) be it that a steam machine exploded, a bomb, or some gunpowder... or maybe he got caught in a fire? I'll leave that to you.
some artificers built automatons, hideous war machines the size of a horse, with blades and small guns, which are driven by clockworks. it is said that they can be more dangerous than friendly fire, and are extremely rare. many a creator died from his own creations running wild...

thank you, I wouldn't have put that much effort into their species and details if not for fellow artists like you who went glee on the few characters I started with. :) I really have to come up with more, like a detailed map, animals, cityscapes, and such. ^^

Jacques, military scientist, inventor. A master of his craft, forced by the military to create monstrosities with what could have been helpful to his kind. He created explosive devices and things, that with the combination of a bit of magic, could come to life. Soldiers with out a soul. "a future were no lives would be harmed. War without consequence!" empty promises filled with lies. Jacques was a genius in his our right. Smug, young, and eager to help those in need, he studied anatomy as a child meaning to become a doctor. It was just him and his father growing up, mother was a wandered and never wanted to be tied down. His father was a mechanic who owned a shop. He taught Jacques the family trade.. He also learned a bit of minor magic from a few magicians who were his neighbors. When he was 15 he attempted his first reattachment of an animatronic limb to a living organism. It was a stray which was missing a leg. By using his knowledge of bone,muscle, and robotics, he was able to create the limb. With magic he was able to allow the animal's brain to control it. A few years after his initial success his father was taken to war. Leaving him the shop, Jacques turned it a small hospital as well as repair shop. When the military found him he was 19.  By 20 he was creating machines that could possibly swim, dig, and fly. All with innocent ideals, but when the military got there handsome them, they had ideals of death. But what they wanted were androids. Jacques could only create thing which could be control and bound to a single person through magic, and it must be in close quarters with their bodies. When he couldn't deliver to them what they wanted, he was sent out into the fields to fight. Out there he would be marred for life by a hidden bomb. Wounded and now useless the military let him dropped him back to his fathers old shop. Were he found one of his fist animatronic limbs. With this he built himself a new face and leg. And is now determined to help those who have been destroy by  the things he created and by the war. 

long, but awesome and befitting. and very interesting. it sounds like the fates created my militarists who have ideas after endless years of useless conflict (as of now, that long-winded war has lasted almost 100 years, nobody really knows what started it anymore, and it's about to collapse under it's own weight, probaby destroying what's left of society forever). use what you get as long as it's useful.
poor kid, all he wanted was to create, and they forced him to destroy...

you may post this story to the description. I think it's interesting and some might even read it. I also hereby ask your permission to use it as a descriptive text when I create a character reference sheet for Jaques (with links and such, of course). I don't know when this would be, but I certainly plan on it. :)


also, there are some curious mistypings. did you use some spellchecking? ^_^

D: I thought I got em all....I wrote this up on my itouch's notebook..so i'm sure i missed a few things or it auto corrected something..ahhwell And of coarse you can use it! haha I made him for you :P

Something I didnt really talk about was his personaility. He's cocky and funny and often very blunt. But to those who know him he's a sweetheart and just wants to help. He doesnt trust many people though.

duly noted. what I'd need now woulöd be his family name. it can be a fantasy name, or something taken from around you. I ain't no Tolkien, I shall not try and come up with an alien language for them. or rather, a multitude of langauges (because I find it odd that any race which lives all across a planet shouldn't develop many different languages. :) )

Haha there's the story I came up for him, kinda long xD but hey I ofthe come up with random stories for my characters :P
