At least I -think- it counts as general... :/
Beyond that, I didn't know what to set it as. Vore? Since that's more of less what's prevalently featured in theme(?) But there's so much other weirdness here...
Ah well. I'm gonna try not to worry about it so much...
You know how sometimes an idea just settles right in and grows rapidly into something more interesting? That happened right away with these guys. I figured, I may as well share it, since it's not leaving.
One thing I think I forgot to say outright and only implied in here is that kopelaan are hatched in the shape of what they were when eaten, and can therefore come in, theoretically, any living form. They are also capable of changing their body's shape somewhat if need be. They aren't capable of putting any major changes on their head shape when solidifying, though.

I'd like to see the prey get more accustomed to being inside a kopelaan's stomach.
Day 1: PLEASE! LET ME OUT! I DON'T WANNA DIE~!!
Day 2: *sniffle* I have so much stuff left to do...please...let me out ;__;
Day 3: *Now going stir-crazy the prey talks to the pred to pass the time* W-well, before I got...in here >_< I...
Day 4: *snuggles into the pets, feeling loved and more at peace with the kopelaan.
Day 5: Murr~
Day 6: -Gurgle~!-
That well-fed kopelaan petting his stomach seems like he loves his prey :3

Oh, yeah, absolutely. It becomes something of an uncomfortable process at first, when one isn't yet used to the drain put on their body and soul, and at the hatching/escape. However, in the long run, hosts live long, happy lives (suggested to have increased vitality from the experience, even) and have one less thing to worry about, since they are then marked as a valuable resource / helpful, trustworthy native, and quite off-limits to kopelaans as a food source.
They may, however, be called upon for help shuffling about, aid in catching prey, a warm body to get close to, and, of course, to carry more eggs.
Sorry 'bout that. I sort of ran out of room for anything detailed. Hope this clears it up. X3

Ahh, that's good to hear! Sci-fi films have generally taught me that forced parasitic growth tends to end very messily, which is why I asked what I did. xP
So how does the impregnation work? Since you didn't specify gender, I assume the host can be male or female, so...I assume impregnation happens through the mouth and incubation occurs in the stomach? Or does impregnation/incubation occur on the more 'southward' end of the digestive system? Or...not in the digestive system at all?
And...the egg hatches within the host and the new Kopelaan just climbs out, I gather?
^^ Sounds rather beneficial honestly, being 'protected' by doing that. I wouldn't mind bein' a host, honestly... Assuming I'm not too internally hot for their proper incubation. *^^*

Oh my goodness, I know the reproduction is a complex process, but the illustrations make it look so adorable despite the fact that it's essentially not really alive. I'm starting to wonder if that adorability is an adaptation designed to make folks like me wish I could find one to feed. X3
Fantastic creature creation! ^^
Fantastic creature creation! ^^
Thanks. :3
When the egg hatches, the new kopelaan, freshly reborn from the consciousness of an old meal, escapes through the host's body through the nearest exit before re-solidifying for the first time. From then on, it's just about surviving as a kopelaan for them; getting sentient meals to sustain themselves, keeping under the radar, ETC. Does that answer your question?
