While the comic gets up to speed, please consider dropping by Spontoon Island, where they're very kindly hosting an illustrated pulp adventure I've written featuring Dorothy Pearl, a.k.a. The Gaze, and her rough and ready cohort Jane Early.

I'm saving up a bit 'you rock' for when I comment on every pic I can, but I do have two questions ...
I can get a little ... *ahem* anal, about reading things in the right order. Is there any sort of guide, timeline, archive, or order for reading the spontoon Stuff?
At the risk of getting tomatoes for a bad pun ... Is there a male gaze? With all these lovely ladies around, I'd assume he'd be there to appreciate them ...

Regarding story order, if you're talking about Spontoon Island in general, I'm afraid there's so many different authors, story lines, and such a proliferation of different continuities, even, that the answer would be pretty much no. Most authors do tend to note the historical date their story was supposed to take place, so I guess if you rooted around enough you could read them in a semblance of historical, chronological order.
If you're referring directly to "The Gaze", well the chapters are numbered, so I'd start with Part 1 and go from there. Sorry if that seems flippant or if I'm misunderstanding you.
And no, the Eye of the Guardians always chooses female felines for its users.
Thanks in advance for the "you rock" by the way. Just glad you dig the stuff I'm exhibiting.

So ... is the Spontoon stuff mostly stand-alone, as connected as, say, the Lovecraft mythos or Christopher Moores work is to each other, tight up as tight as the golden, silver, or modern age DC or Marvel comic, or would it be like reading all the different what if?'s / Elseworld's - a common background, referencing each other, but none of them are directly cannon on the other work?
And yeah, I meant in general, I saw the chapters, and I intend to read them :D
And way to side-step the lame pun :P I did see the little guide you put up (I've looked though all your stuff already, now going back and slowly commenting on them to let you know where you're particular awesome.)
Oh, and as a last question. Just as a curiosity, have you ever heard of the RPG game, "Spirits of the Century"? I was looking though Spontoon and your stuff, and it really seem's like your girls are some pretty good centurion constants. Especially that line of super-heroins who use the Eye of the Guardians.
Sorry if I'm fan-boying out on you too much >.< :D

Well, the capsule version is that Spontoon Island is a public domain shared story space where various authors can spin their tales in an anthropomorphic populated South Pacific Island paradise of the '20s, '30s, and '40s. You can find everything from gritty spy drama to pulp science fiction to broad, Marx brothers style farce in the various authors' work.
I think the "common background, referencing each other but none of them directly canon" is the best way to describe it. My own contributions exist in their own univers that only touches what might be called "mainline" Spontoon at a few discreet points.
Heywulf (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/heywulf) is the founder, editor, and custodian of what he often terms the Spontoon dreamscape. If you'd like the story straight from the horse's mouth, go to him. I'd also suggest doing so if you develop an interest in contributing your own material. He can hook you up with writer's guides and give you solid advice.
MItch Marmel is another sage you would do well to consult on matters Spontoon http://www.furaffinity.net/user/marmelmm/
Yes, I've indeed heard of Spirit of the Century. I've even played it a few times. It's a really nicely designed new age system. I also enjoy Savage Worlds, which is a bit more traditionally RPG crunchy but well suited for a pulp setting as well. All good stuff.
Absolutely no need to apologize, I'm proud of my work and am always thrilled if someone enjoys it.
