The skraine is very lightweight with very strong muscles,
leaving it very difficult to injure via holds or forceful bending.
Its spine, which has as many vertebrae as a snake's, is very limber and strong,
leaving the body capable of quick strikes when it wants to avoid trouble.
The skraine is an excellent runner,
typically keeping its speed and stamina long after its target runs itself out...
Wings are similar to a mockingbird's, but have their slight differences,
including unusual silence.
Because the tail is thin and the fur is so sleek, quick steering during flight is awkward,
but slightly possible through extra long fur on the skraine's feet.
The feet are not only able to twist around at a 180-degree angle,
but the long toes make excellent appendages for grabbing and holding.
The eyes are very sensitive to light and are able to see in nearly pitch-darkness.
They are also used to hypnotize prey.
The skraine has extremely deadly venom, capable of causing cardiac arrest in less than a minute,
given proper circumstances.
What appear to be small teeth are actually serrated extensions of the skraine's beak,
which is merely an extension of its skull.
The tongue is very long and somewhat lacking in tastebuds.
This gives the skraine a false image of a picky eater...Side Notes:
The skraine is very territorial and will challenge anything it deems a threat. This can lead to unneccesary skirmishes, which can result in unwanted injury. As a defense mechanism, the skraine will emit an ear-shattering screech that can be heard for miles. The unproportionately high-pitched wail can actually cause physical damage to the victim's ears, offering the skraine a quick escape while his assailant is stunned. On the flipside, however, the skraine can also emit a very low and relaxing bark, very similar to a hum in the back of it's throat. This is a relaxing sound and, given enough audio time, can aid in hypnotizing fiesty prey.
So, here's my latest creation... Lovely, isn't he? :3 I got so excited over this guy, I couldn't help but finish him. >w<
The skraine is about the same size as a fokkle, but takes up a lot less space when he wants to. He is also a reach into Darwin's grab bag...
Squirrel + viper + mockingbird + owl + otter = skraine (fun stuff, this is)
Also, with this guy's submission, I am now comfortable enough to post:
COMMISSIONS ARE NOW OPEN!EDIT: Newer, cleaner one uploaded... And an advisory change, because of penis. F5 for betterness.

....I want to draw wings like you do. ...and I want to draw feet like you, too. And legs and head shapes and eyes... care to give me some bits of your talent? :U
Certainly an interesting combination of creatures there, though. And incredibly... colorful, too, haha. Are you as averse to colors or is it just me? XD (I seem to have an odd knack for making everything... almost everything shades of gray. What is this.)
Anyway.... I actually kind of enjoy the messy look on this. do want awesome ref sheet making skills.

Oh damn, those wings almost killed me to actually draw them right, for once. lol And eyes are my forte... I fucking love eyes. I spet the majority of my high school career failing classes and improving on my art. lol There was even a spell (my sixteenth birthday) when my art got me in so much trouble, my mother burned it all in hopes that I would focus on my grades... That was an ugly time.
This is quite an interesting creature. That's a very versatile a set of abilities/qualities for a predator to have at its disposal. I'm not sure what you mean by the serrated teeth being attached to a hidden beak. I thought you meant they are just bone projections from the skull, but then I'm confused about why you call it a beak.
I love reading animal profiles with lots of detail. This is basically the type of profile I'd like to make for all the creatures living in my head.
