My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic...
Good God, I never thought I'd say this... but the show is actually good!
If you haven't noticed, there's a blossom of fanart pictures floating around after the October 2010 broadcast of this new reincarnation of the old 1980s franchise. Airing on the HUB channel and then being uploaded onto YouTube, it seems to be getting the attention of both young AND old TV goers alike. After I got curious, I got on YouTube to watch a few episodes... And this show actually gave the MLP franchise a well-deserved recharge to cater to this age's audiences with the slick art style, colorful animation, lively characters and a comic style I wouldn't expect from a MLP cartoon. It reminded me a lot of the PowerPuff Girls and how the flowery surfaced just covered up how funny and engaging the show is... in fact, this MLP remake has been under the direction of the same person who MADE the PowerPuff Girls and Foster's Home of Imaginary Friends! Mindblow!!
I watched a couple MLP cartoons in the past... I was at an age that I'd watch anything without a care... and this is a real improvement from a show that is so flowery and cutsey that was targeting mainly the young girl demographic. This is what happens when you take an old, outdated franchise, give it a new skin and new life, and get it done right. Take notes. This is a rare gem in the cartoon world. I still have a lot of episodes to look through, and I may pull off an all-nighter to hammer through the tough stuff.
So I am seeing, as far as I can see, a lot of love for the ponies... but what about the little purple baby dragon, Spike? He was always my favorite character, ever since I was little. He still remains as a favorite character in this new show, and it is high time he deserves some love, too!
So here's Alex Trefur as a Baby Dragon. Doing a little doodle out in Ponyville! He just needs a break from hanging around Twilight Sparkle all day. Enjoy!

Yeah, I would have made a pony if I wanted to, but I would have rather have done something else that would set it apart from the rest, and as close to the original art style, no less. Spike is no exception to that. He was already first in line, so I wanted to see this great dragon in my own image. :D Thanks!
This is cute. I have been catching up with the new cartoon on YouTube. Luckily someone uploaded the whole episodes. I have my DVR recording the new ones. lol
I kinda miss the old MLP looks though. The new ones look a little too thin to me. The only ones that really look like real horses are the boy ponies. lol I do like the Pegicorns though. I have a Pegicorn morph that has a body of a blue roan horse.
I am kinda confused by Snips and Snails completely. I don't even want to guess what kind of pony they are supposed to be. LOL
I just saw the episode with the mustache and suggested beard yesterday. He really liked having facial hair way too much. lol
