Ah yes, it's the second March again, so it's the birthday of one of my best friends, Kumbartha (Still in doubt who deserves to be THE BEST, but Kumbartha has got real potential for the title!).

That's right, the Beatles were THE THING last year, but this year I've decided to make the image themed on something both me and Kumbartha enjoy a lot (I like the Beatles, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't call myself a fan) ... so I picked... Detective Conan (as far as I know, it was know in the US as "Case Closed", all names were changed and it only got 20 episodes.... we shall ignore that!).

For those who don't get the reference. Detective Conan is an anime series about a 17 year old high school student, who happens to be a detective genius, Shinichi Kudo. One day he gets poisoned by a group of weird people and gets turned into a 6 year old, while still keeping the mind of a 17 year old teenager. He takes the name Conan Edogawa and decides to still solve cases by using a special bow tie which is given to him by a friendly professor, with which he can make himself sound like the dumb looser detective with whom he lives and literally put the solution to the case in his mouth (that is AFTER using tranquilizer darts to put him to sleep).

I know it sounds childish!!! But add the fact that it's always about murders, which sometimes get violent... plus the overall cleverness of the show... and yeah, high quality entertainment!

So yeah, considering that Kumbartha's fursona comes in many forms... including an underage one... Kumbartha is the genius boy! But who's Farel here? He's Haiji, "the other genius detective" also known as "The Great Detective from the West" (since he's from Kyoto, while Shinichi Kudo is from Tokyo and hence he's got the title "The Great Detective from the East").

Heiji is one of few characters to find out Conan's true identity. I guess it does fit to me.... INTELLIGENT, but not as intelligent as Kumbartha... Ah well :)

This artwork was very troublesome to make, I had such trouble with the lineart (was experimenting with vectors) that I instead went for markers and minor corrections on the machine. I guess I should do that more often, saves time and doesn't look that that bad I guess.
