This is a birthday gift from my good friend
9Delta, and I can't thank him enough! My little attempts at writing a tiny story/anecdote are meant to honour his gift and Paint's art.

Paint brandished her camera and caught the birthday boy's bite into the brown baked good in mid mastication. He smirked at her around his fork and reminded her that he had wanted her to focus her photographic attentions upon his four friends.
'I got them all in that shot though, Ame!' Sovandar and Delta, Ned and Ace, on either side of the snake's larger profile.
She looked at them then, the short lizardman striking an odd pose, which she had managed to get a snap of, also capturing the laughing lizard to the left of the first. The kobold and the monitor were a couple, and didn't seem to need any entertaining other than one another.
The fireskink slunk her way closer to the other side of the room under the python's unblinking gaze. He had been a bit aloof all party long (then again, he had insisted that they dig into the cake almost right away.. to have room for another piece later, he had said!), staying slightly separated and surveying the scene through those serious serpentine spheres.
As Paint spared a thought for Tig, her boyfriend, she strolled carefully around the slightly sloshing kiddy pool they had set up and filled in the living room, just for the sake of their aquatically inclined companion, Ace.
The shark was talking with the spider about the sweet treat. When a fish calls a cake moist, you know it's good. Maybe even a little soggy. The question of the pastry's progenitor developed and, of the four, no one claimed to be responsible for the rapturous cake. They all agreed that it couldn't be store-bought, but then dropped it and went back to whatever they had been doing.
In an odd twist, the only person there not eating the cake, Paint, was the one who was distressed about its origins. She thought they should at least wonder who..
She looked along the line up of four friends to the python, then Ame himself. She stood behind them all, next to the crocodile pinata and as the realization struck her, she felt as if she had just been hit in the head with a small wooden stick instead of the papier mache that dangled behind her.
She grinned and raised her camera once more, spying Ame across the room, between the two groups of two, and further back.
Ame had said to 'just wait until something happens', and she could tell that this was THAT something, right at that moment.
Paint began to snap off frames like her life depended on it. The shutter on the old-fashioned camera had never worked so hard.

Haha, nice. :>
Also, I was soooo sleepy when I wrote this whole thing. Please tell me how bad it is. I feel like most of the actual story was in my head, and never made it out as each line I meant to put down spiralled off into the beginning of a dream.. before I remembered that my hands were on a keyboard and that they should have been moving.
For instance, I was going to make more of that reference to Tig, but have no idea what it was, now. :S
