fydbac does these cool stream-time sketch sessions (as described here). The idea is she takes minimal input (15 words or less OR a link to a song, plus one reference link per character), and spends an hour or hour-and-a-half drawing something based on that.

For this piece, I gave fydbac a link to Time Grows On, by Octopus Nebula (also also here), and a link to Rooth'ragon's reference page. And this is what she came up with. :) This time I tried asking for a new option of hers, with flat colors as well as cell colors. Thus the liquid look and more finished touch to it, though it apparently took little extra effort, as she completed it in less than an hour. Sadly, I missed most of the show, as my blogtv stream and/or internet connection was being very spotty. But I got to see parts, and was fascinated as always. ^_^ She says that certain music tends to make her think of water, and Octopus Nebula stuff is pretty groovy / trippy / electronica jam stuff, so it's totally understandable and fitting.

Fydbac is the single most professional artist I've dealt with in this fandom. Whether hiring her for stream sketches, or offline work, I get a professional invoice, a timeframe, and very clear rules and procedures handling all the important stuff. As her bio states on her web page "...I work to go beyond expectations and make the audience come back for even more." I'd say it's working. This is my 4th commission (first one is a longer ongoing project), and that's not counting the kiriban I won. I'm clearly addicted, and need to hold back some. *grin*
