why numbers?

When we got Big 24, my brother was watching Spongebob, the episode that was on was the one where Patrick goes to boating school. He was asked to tell the class his name but he got nervous and blurted out "24!". I was in mid sentence of saying, "We should name her..." and the name just stuck.
The white on 12's face is half of 24's, so we just stuck with 12. Little 24 at first looked like big 24 but then she got fluffier. Sweetie Pie now looks like Big 24, but it's too late to rename her.
