Assignment 2 for Advanced Drawing for Animation.
Assignment was to create a few anatomically believable mounts and riders. The more you created, the better.
I really could have gone so out of this world with mounts...its a really easy subject for me...but I decided to stick with doing concepts I could use for the story I'm working on. These were the best designs I came up with.
Based on multiple prehistoric and modern animals.

He's based mainly on Indricotherium http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indricotherium with a few touches influenced by modern horses ^^
