shes been sittin awhile, but still a good runner...24th scale kit, ground out the wheel wells so they were really thin, then busted em up with a knife tip, added rust colour paint, then masked with rubber cement. the body was then painted. after that, the cement was rubbed off, and further detailed overall. the windscreen was done with tape cut to match the wiper swipe, then clear coated to simulate a dusty streaked windscreen. the back seat has an old afghan on it, that really a paper towel, soaked with a lil white glue to fix its shape, then painted with a drab sandy colour...

not a critique, cause yer truck looks great, but an idea for future wrecks. to show the steel underneath, paint the body silver, then mask with rubber cement or similar, paint it, then rub off the cement, and youll have steel under truely flaked paint. I use salt on planes to do the same sort of thing.
oh yeah, I've seen many different ways, I read about weathering in "Fine Scale Modeler", very similar car that you did. They showed how you drill holes and rub them down for the rust look and all sorts of fun things :P
And sadly, the truck itself was already painted, I actually dismantled it to do this, thankfully I didn't use too much glue. Oh well, maybe next time I'll try some new things, I'd paint it just like a real car too :D
