Nice work on your costume man. Ive been slowly working myself into shape as well. Its starting slow though, want to try and get off some of this fat before I actually work out.

There's definitely something to be said for that, but keep in mind, muscle burns more calories than fat, so you can actually get in shape faster by doing a bit of lifting while you're trying to shed pounds!

I have to agree with everything everyone says: your arms clearly do show your dedication and that you've been bulking even more since the last time we saw pics; this costume is just as cool and detailed as the last if not more; and yes you very much have the lion aura to go with your incredibly hot body. I certainly do try to put the details into the costume... it's the little things that really make it stand out, and that tend to get the biggest response when people actually notice them (which admittedly usually takes a second or two )

And as for the body, well... heh, thank's for noticing! I actually have put on some weight since last year... and even though -I- can't see it in myself, I've been getting told that I look bigger by just about everyone. I was going through a pretty hard-core routine to get ready for con, so it's nice to know that it paid off

I can actually believe you wouldn't notice, since I'd imagine that anyone who works out religiously would get into such a routine they wouldn't really pay much attention to how they're looking, they just keep doing the exercises out of habit. That, and because you see yourself every day you get so used to what you see you don't register the changes, because they happened gradually before your eyes. I bet if you actually sat down and compared close-up, good pics, you'd be able to see the difference. Or maybe it's something only an outside observer can see.

Anyway all that hardcore preparation explains a lot.

lol, for me it's actually a weird form of self-image issues. I can't really explain it, but no matter how hard I work or how 'good' I look, it's never hard or good enough in my eyes... I always just focus on the imperfections. I don't want to get all uber-personal on an FA comment, but that's more or less what it is.. not just for the gym, either... that's pretty much how I am about everything I do... which is why I end up pushing myself so hard I guess...

That might sound over-personal (and a bit narcissistic) except well...you're a lion first of all so it goes with the territory and secondly, to care about one's appearance at all, let alone to work on it as hard as is needed to look the way you do, you HAVE to be a bit narcissistic. So therefore, the fact you keep seeing the imperfections and never seem good enough in your eyes, that you need to keep working harder--that's a good thing, for while never being satisfied can lead to too much perfectionism, at the same time it's clearly a great motivator, one that won't let you rest on your laurels, instead always challenging yourself.

And yes, you're quite wicked, in more ways than one, cat.

A lot of people accuse me of being narcissistic, but I think that's mostly because of my sarcastic and teasing personality (and because they don't really know me). To me, narcissism is looking at yourself and only seeing perfection, whereas for me, it's the opposite! But as you said, it's what pushes me, so in a way I agree that it's not entirely a bad thing! Yeah I was mostly just teasing. And you're quite right, caring about how one looks isn't narcissism or even vanity really. Those require a person to be bragging about said looks and, as you said, claiming they're already perfect. You're just working hard to try and be and look as good as you can, and if you don't accept you've reached perfection yet, good--because no one really can, and as long as you don't accept that, you'll just...keep getting better.

Very impressive delts and upper arms (even without the accentuating effect of Louie's makeup)... :)

Close, it's a sarong, tied in probably the most simple way possible (but I kinda just had to figure it out on the spot (that's what I get for overlooking one of those minor but -major- details!)). They're pretty popular in a lot of more 'tribal' areas in South America and Africa, and it seemed to convey the theme well enough.

And heh, thanks! Like I said, I've been working on the body for -years- now, so it's nice to hear that all those years and hours are paying off

So it's a sarong? Interesting... The plain-coloured cloth and simple linear pattern around the border is really more reminiscent of dhoti - try searching for "dhoti" on eBay and you'll see what I mean!

hehe, thanks man! I've been at bodybuidling for the last 8 years or so, puttin in an average of about 2 hours a day 5 days a week, so it's been a HUGE investment. It takes time.. just keep with it!

Aww, thank you! I don't think it's quite -that- caliber of good, but I'm flattered nevertheless! And it takes entirely too long... about 3 hours for the body and 1.5 for the face, depending on circumstances. But, it's a ton of fun, and well worth the investment!

What kind of paint is it? Alcohol/water/oil based?
It's very smooth, the water and alcohol based paints I've tried so far tend to get very dry, and then of course they crack and look raspy and horrid... but your paint job looks very smooth and moist.

it's alcohol based... And yes, it's a very high quality paint... a little pricey, but worth it. It's actually a brand that they use in a lot of Hollywood productions and whatnot, and I've always had really good experiences working with it :P
