I managed to get the scanner up and running somewhat with a new AC adapter, but if you look not so closely, you'll see that the adapter isn't fully compatible -- probably its voltage isn't really good enough. There's stripes of cyan, magenta, and yellow throughout the image.

When I shrunk it down from the original scanned resolution in wasn't so bad, but it's still easily visible, especially on the left side (the top of the page when I scanned it in).
