Twilight Sparkle came to me to ask what was taking so long to finish strip #4. She looked over my shoulder and saw me patiently painting colored ink lines in Photoshop. "Ah," she said, "you're trying to exactly duplicate the look of the show. It looks very nice, KT, but it's been two days and you're not even half done yet." The fact that I hadn't gotten into a groove and kept taking frequent breaks from it probably wasn't helping either. Then she said to me, "Remember Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra? Well, Applejack and Rarity in Look Before You Sleep."

Then I realized I had to stop sweating all the little details if I wanted to get the thing done and draw lots of strips after it. So I put the show-perfect work aside, grabbed a piece of marker paper and just inked the whole thing with a ballpoint pen, and stuck to my usual level of care while coloring it.

As you can see, Pinkie Pie was getting impatient too. I think she's the one who sent Twilight to check up on me.
