If you're still interested, our engineers hanging curtains for sunblocking, cause cab ventilation (or heating) systems do not exist on old USSR shunters. They're moar like a booth with the engine.
Plus, if you shielding from sun, can make surrounding nicer with home apliances, eh?
P.S. Also... main brake has 3 level deactivation:
1)Move it to "Service2" position, then
2)Turn catch-valve open in bottom of regulator (near the floor) and
3)Move brake to "emergency" position. There will be click-sound and system starts to fill - only then it'll be able to release the brakes.
So basicaly - he can do whatever he wants with lever - nothing would happen.
