GALIDIA.ELEGANS052 FINAL
"Behold, my latest creation!
It climbs, it creeps, it spies! It sees, it hears, it collects data samples! Its tail is a radio receiver! Number 52 is the final version, the pinnacle of my bio-robotic career!"
As the announcer prattles on into the microphone, G.ELEGANS052 sits quietly on its display stand. It was manufactured to be spy equipment, but what the developers didn't realize when they grafted mongoose tissue onto robotic muscles was that this "equipment" would have a mind of its own. G.ELEGANS052, the final version, the pinnacle of its maker's bio-robotic career, simply wants to climb up a tree and sleep.
This is a character that has been brewing in my mind for a few days, ever since murphyerasmus gave me a tail identical to G.ELEGANS052's. I wanted it to be something original, something rarely seen, and a bio-robotic creature is just the thing. I also wanted to model it after a real animal, and thus, the ring-tailed mongoose popped into my head. I've always been a fan of the mustelid body shape (although there is debate regarding whether mongooses belong in the mustelid family).

OH MAN
I stumbled upon this character from a commission someone else did, and as soon as I saw it I was like "IS THAT WHAT I THINK IT IS?"
Went to your page
Dug through your entire gallery
AND THERE IT IS
A RING-TAILED MONGOOSE
HOLY CRUD, MAN. HOW STINKING COOL. <3 I absolutely NEVER see characters of these guys-- let alone such interesting ideas for 'em! ROBO-MONGOOSE, DUDE. AMAZING. 8D Fabulous art, wonderful design, and overall a SUPER RAD CHARACTER IDEA.
And haha, all the thought processes in your description is awesome. Taxonomy in general is super crazy, right now-- and even among mustelids, the Ring-Tailed Mongoose isn't even a real mongoose! It's an Euplurid, along with all the other Malagasy mustelids, so then it just gets more complex and controversial and just-... BAH!
