Before MFM 14 kicked off I checked out the Legendary Sun Studios in Downtown Memphis.
This is the studio where Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Roy Orbison recorded their first records and kicked off the Rock & Roll Revolution in the mid 1950's. It's still being used as a recording studio at night. John Mellencamp recorded his last album there.
The tour is worth seeing not just for fans of Elvis, but it's also a 50's audio gear freaks heaven. Lots of old guitars, records, recording equipment, tape decks, mics, speakers and memorabilia on display etc. And it only cost me 12 Bucks! It's worth it to check out what many believe is the "Birthplace of Rock & Roll".
Here's my photos and a quick video from the tour: http://photobucket.com/sunstudios2011
If you're an analog gearhead, musician or a fan of 50's Rock this is ground zero for where it all began. http://www.sunstudio.com/
