Yep, other than looking cool of course, when magic is channeled through the sword, it can be enchanted, with magical power, where you can have it on fire, pulsing with electricity, or just glowing and awesome with raw magic. It can also be infused with spells, so if you wanted to knock someone out, just poke them a bit with a sleep spell on the sword, and instant tranquilizer! ;)
