I'm no Superman (Scrubs Theme) Lazlo Bane Cover Featuring Dr
So, I must admit. I have been down on furries, cons and the whole fandom shebang for about a year now. I was not even planning on going to RF this year I was honestly sure I was going have a shitty time and the whole thing wasn't going to be worth it.
Little did I know...
I had the best con of my entire life. I played soooo much wonderful with music with people who are so much more talented than I and came home feeling like a million bucks and completely turned around on fandom in general.
This all started while I wandered down the hallway with a guitar slung over my back as I always do at a con when a man I had never met before and never even seen ran after me panting saying "I have a strange request, can I borrow your guitar?" I followed him to the emerald room were he was rehearsing/sound checking his performance for the furry variety show.
north Asked me if I was playing and I was just thinking "why the fuck should I play for these assholes they never actually like anything I play" and he suggests that we do a duet and I shrug it off thinking it was a ridiculous idea *UNTIL* I heard this wayward stranger start to sing in a crisp loud and perfectly pitched voice while playing a wonderful accompaniment on a guitar that was purring soothingly in his hands. And so it was that ended up meeting
drummerfox who is pretty much the the reason I ended up having a wonderful con despite the baggage I was toting.
This is the song that he and I preformed at the variety show. The recording was one I made durring our impromptu practice session in my hotel room.
So thank you
inangus for draggin me to the con thank you
north for your encouragement and the best suggestion I have heard in years, thank you
drummerfox for sharing you wonderful talent with me and for your infectiously cheerful attitude. I also want to thank Alexander James Adams for backing us up on drums. I also want to shout out to
mousepaws who some of you may have seen me jamming with in the hallways and who desperately needs to upload his music. Please bug this man and tell him that he needs to post his shit!
I also want to apologize for being a rude, obstinant and hateful stick in the mud for any that it effected. I think I am on my way to being a much happier fox.
Thank you.

I really look up to alexander though. I think he is a wonderful influence on our fandom and a talented individual in many more respects than just his fiddle playing. It was an honer playing with him. Drummer fox is a wonderful guitar player. He keeps better rythme than I do on rythme guitar. Wholly fuck man, have you eve put my stuff next to a metronome?
I am good at writing, singing, arranging and doing lead work. Not so much timing, harmony, percussion. There are so many holes in my abilities I admire anyone that has a talent for something I dont.

He's a great guy, but I don't find his music very catchy. I like that you lean more towards a more folk rock style. And I always saw your wavering tempo as more for an artistic pause kinda thing :P
And if you really wanna get better at a natural static tempo, I like to practice stuff like scales along to a mentronome at a VERY slow pace, then play at a fast comfortable pace, and back to slow as fuck. Like so slow it HURTS! xD

Thanks for pointing out this post to me Drew. It changes a lot the way I feel about RF2011 too. To bring people together in a creative way around warm, open hearth of furry is what I work so many conventions and private events for. Reading this really made me feel good that after all the difficulty I've had with RF, I can still accomplish that goal and help good people find one another to build a community.
I'm also really glad that in this case it happened for a great guy like you and for a great guy like Drummerfox. I've always liked your music. I hope you never give it up, especially not if you think it's unappreciated. It is.
One other thing. Don't forget that in turning your own con around, you also made me and a lot of furs in the audience feel uplifted and happy. You probably saved the con for many of them. That's how good things pay forward.
Despite the song title, you guys are supermen. Or superfurs at least. :-P
