These are the 2 political parties in the Hodges Pond world. Predator and Prey. With animals I always liked to envision their political view points from 2 sides either you were on top of the food chain or on the bottom and how you saw your world would come from those perspectives. So when Peter (predator candidate) promises "a Chicken in every Pot" you can rest assure he means that literally LOL.
I tried to spoof the Democrat and Republican logos so that it would have the same feel .Another thing I had not realized was the direction the characters faced. I never noticed the Donkey faced left and the Elephant faced Right. I captured that here too. Also if you notice the wolf's tail hooks like the trunk on the elephant and the rabbit has long ears like the donkey.

Yes in fact I was thinking about that earlier. I believe I will introduce a 3rd party in the series maybe spoof the green party or something like that. I just want aware if there was a logo design for the 3rd party that's why I wasn't able to create a 3rd party button, but thanks for the thought I will consider that too. :)
I think I should make a 3rd party .. and what better name to refer to this 3 party of animals who find themselves in the middle of the road (politically) .. but the "Roadkill" party.. or the "Roadkills" its sorta a Double entendre there because this viewpoint of this party would seems to fit the type of animals who would be found as roadkill (the smaller omnivores like Raccoon, possums etc.. ) LOL
Maybe the political button image would have a flat animal with tire treads on its back , i sense a comic gag developing here. LOL

As a skunk, I would have to gravitate toward some middle party. Although I am small enough to be prey, I have a 'unique bodily feature' that allows me to roam the land mostly unafraid. However, I also have the teeth of a carnivore but the digestive system of an omnivore. Maybe I am best suited to see things from both sides.
Ah, yes, an independent party that stands the middle ground. Us skunks would do that mostly. Though some of us like to live dangerously and love to argue with the predators. hehe Get into friendly arguments with our long tooth friends.
I can also see skunks or other omnivores being the middle ground and getting both predators and prey parties mad at them for not taking an issue with their side... or either side. Just like the real parties do! LOL

Hmm I like where you are going with this and I sense comic strip humor here. As for the name I sorta think Id want to give then a name that would poke fun of them like we call 3rd paries "green party" , "tea party" I think for animals who find themselves in the middle of the road politically I think thry would be know as members of the "Roadkill" party LOL
Hmm, the overall design seem a little too similar to the U.S. political parties for my personal tastes, although the subtle details you mentioned (orientation and tail/ear designs) are a nice nod.
As to which Hodges Pond party I would be a part of, while I appreciate Steve's spunk, I also appreciate not being eaten. I feel torn.

Well that sorta was the Idea I wanted these to mimic real campaign buttons designs so you would know what they were also by doing them this way people who were not familiar with comic could still enjoy the concept. I originally started with a totally unique design but after different concept designs I felt this looked the best. It was a difficult choice, :).
