@_@ I am stupidly proud of how this turned out. *dork* Yes, she has a rainbow lightsaber. She's always had a rainbow lightsaber. I have been playing this character for eighteen years now, so nyah. =D I am sad, because in real life, this piece is incredibly SHINY. All the jewelry, her bracers, etc, are done in metallic watercolors. The scanner doesn't pick any of that up, alas.

I haven't read any by her son yet. I'm always leery when another author takes over. I was sad as well, she will be missed. There just aren't a lot of authors that can write great stories anymore. (Although the "Game of Thrones" series is just AWESOME)
Pern really helped sate my thirst for dragon stories where the dragons weren't just mindless beasts destroying everything, but I have always loved to read. Big reason I broke down and got a Nook, I have all but run out of room for books. XD

I feel bad, all my books are in storage in the basement still, even though we moved over a year and a half ago. c.c I do have a couple ebook apps on my iPad, but I don't use them very often. There's just something about the feel of a paperback in my hands that I really, really like.
Her son's stuff is okay? He went and explored a couple directions of life on Pern that are less seen in the other books, which was pretty interesting. I enjoyed Game of Thrones too, though it's definitely not for everybody. I have a couple friends who can't read it because it hits on psychological triggers. Me? My headfolk seem to feed on pain and suffering and angst, so it was right up my alley. =D Got my copies signed by George R.R. Martin at a con a few years back, too, which was pretty awesome.

Yeah, I've had more than one person condemn me for going digital with my books, but it was not a decision I made lightly. I may check out her son's books now, just to see if I like them or not.

Bah, tangents are fine! Talking about my art just feeds my ego, which is plenty bloated already. =D Oh god, I SO did that while I was reading Game of Thrones. "Ok, so this guy is obviously the hero, and he's going to fix everything, and... they just... chopped his head off... in front of his kids... AUGH!" I do like ebooks, but I read so fast, I have a hard time spending money on a book I'll finish in the same day. I do download a fair amount of freebies off Amazon, but they tend to be really, really bad soft core porn. XDD
No kidding. I don't mind spending money on ones I know I'll like and read more than once, but there is also a website where you can download a LOT of books for free to your PC and then just load them on to anything with e-reader features. I have read so many books to death. XD

Booksbooksbooksbooks @_@ I'm still working my way through the massive pile of paperbacks Nius got for me when Borders went under. Most of it's really bad shapeshifter porn. XDD And aww, thank you. I try not to be an egotistical bitch. I think I have a pretty realistic grasp of where my skill level is (and where it isn't). I'm still not sure how to react at cons when people squee at me. I'm always sure they're mixing me up with someone else. c.c
Nah, Lora Leigh's Breed series at the moment. XDD I get like that too at cons. Squeeing is okay... it's the ones that tell me after the con "I saw you but I was too afraid to say hi" that always weird me out a little, because really, I'm not a scary person. I fake being social, but I'm about as shy as they come.
*chuckles* Thanks! Nooo, it's not MLP XDD The simplest explanation is that I was ten when I created the character and I couldn't decide on a single color, so I decided her blade is coruscating rainbows. The colors actually move, the pulse up the blade, but that's hard to illustrate in a still image.
