Oh my, that was quite beautiful. I absolutely love it !!! There isn't one single thing I don't love about it! Very, very nicely done. The ending was perfect. You should have many more faves than you do. I'm quite sorry you don't. Please don't get discouraged, just keep on doing what you do. Sometimes it just takes awhile to get everyone's attention. Try to be patient!
Very well written. I get a lot of imagery, which is good and often needed when listening to music.
the beginning is phenominal, the theme going on is magnificent.
0:12, i am thinking of a better choice of instrument, an asian flare one would fit the piece perfectly, and when the flute comes in continuing the theme with the first instrument would be cool. But its your piece, have it YOUR way. If its perfect in your head, by all means its perfect :). Cant please everyone.
1:00 Lord of the Rings comes to mind, which is a great way for music to sound. Howard Shore is a great guy to be compared to.
2:00 adds a new element, like conflict against the Survivors (By far my favorite part with the harp, i would love to play piano to this, and hodge-podge this entire piece into a piano score)
3:00 adds a somber note to it, like looking back into the past at a love or what could have been
3:45 is back into a march style, so the survivors are marching on into the sunset
I would love to run this through EWQLSO, lots of good sounds.
Do not be discouraged. I had ZERO watchers for months before I started to post my piano stuff. Most people here are video game die-hards, so if you do anything Kingdumb Farts related, you get a ton of hits. I only like the music of the games, since i do not care for playing games other than Chrono Cross, Elder Scrolls, and Final Fantasy. With this piece, you have earned my watch and adoration. There are not a lot of classical musicians or musicians in general who compose music like this or of this calibre. This day and age is all about dub, electro, and rock both hard and soft. Keep this style of music alive because its dying fast. Keep up all the hard work! And i am serious, if you can relay me a MIDI of this piece, i can re-synth it with the sounds i have ;). Keep me posted! I will tell other musicians like you and I to give you a visit!

Though I totally agree with you, telling other musicians is not effective. I posted a journal on composers about two talented people who barely have listeners. No one actually paid attention. This is so lame !
All what tey're interessed in is the techno and "remixes". Since when remix does need creativity? You take someone else's music and copy it, with some personnal touches, yeah, but this still isn't yours.
But bah. People doesn't get the power of a natural matter, like wood, metal and so, vibrating by itself, producing a sound you can do anything with.
Now it's all programmation, electricity, etc... You don't even have direct control over your sound. You have it only by faders and potars. When you pluck your guitar, YOU produce a sounds. When you bow a violin, YOU produce a sound. When you press a synth's keyboard, your PC does. You just tell him when and which, but you're not producing it.
Electromusic is sad, isn't it?

At least, you're using your PC/MAC to produce REAL music. Music that could be play by those instruments. (Though there some things in the piece I'm working on that couldn't be played by a regular orchestra, but this is a common mistake with people who're using sequencers and MIDI notation softwares. I'll explain it to you when we chat).
first of all I have to say 1:15 was beautiful, my suggestion is to lower the percusssion just a little bit , just a small amount so that you can hear the other instruments, although thats just my suggestion.
2:00 was a great transition and I like the theme there and the use of timpani.
I love what you did with that harp solo at first and how you added flutes into it, very good choice and the backing strings sounded good with it.
This was a great composition and you trully deserve to have more viewers, im going to make a journal for you.
You deserve to get your name out more.
Also try putting yor music on youtube, you can get a lot more views and comments on there, you will need to pay a little if you want to advertise your music (which i highly recomend) but i think youtube is probably your best bet.
Sorry i couldnt find much to critique.
zironyxcyx got it all i think

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm also glad you liked the song. Youtube.... my music has been there for about a year and a half, and I ony have 30 or so subscribers. Not just tha, but I also don't trust YT. Ive heard so many stories of people tacking credit for what is NOT rightfully theirs.
I'm sorry I didn't explain. I was out of time.
Here it goes:
So, what I was thinking is that maybe you could add something to mantein the tension, like a low volumed bass line in the fagots (bassoons?) (for example) playing arpeggios at a constant high speed, and playing full chords at the heavier parts.
I hope you understand my lame english xD
Keep up!

Excellent opener. Bouncing the melody around as you add other lines and rhythms is an excellent way to add depth without adding complications. The way this one builds is brilliant and beautiful. It set me up just the right way for the big reveal. I got chills of excitement when the big swell happened about a minute in. Bringing in the drums was a great way to shift the mood. It made the change to a more dramatic style much more fluid and easy to follow. You had me at the edge of my seat with this one. Small and fragile, thunderous and brassy, light and melodic, there is no tone that's off limits for you! Having such a broad canvas to work with has my mouth watering, just jittering with anticipation, waiting to hear what you have next. This is my favorite so far by orders of magnitude. You have an astoundingly diverse set of compositional talents and you're putting all of them to use. You're the sort of person to whom I want to give the world. Just to see what you'd DO with it!
