Another My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic pic. This one was based directly on Apple Bloom (I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be spaced, instead of being Applebloom like Applejack.) instead of an OC. Done partially as practice for a commission I was asked if I could do and partially because it's a mental image that lingers in the back of my head. This is one of the cases where I give something my all, get something valuable, and still consider it a failure enough that I'd rather commission someone else to give it a different take than I did.
I've kinda grown away from a like of justifying images like this unless I'm going to take it all the way with a story or unless I was asked to give it a reason for how it is outside of the image itself. In this particular case, I think Apple Bloom is the right age that balloon games would happen in school. But I think the balloon size relative to her body size makes the situation improbable, in addition to the fact that she's not seated in a way that makes a whole lot of sense for a pony, she'd either need a huge leap or assistance to get that high in the first place, and there's no background to establish that this is happening at her school. Just that backless seat.
Cutie Mark Crusaders Balloon Busters they are not. (Though I'll probably have a laugh if anything to that effect actually does happen in the show.)
I used to hate balloon games in grade school. Scared me for the noise 'n fear of making my team loose. Now I think they're some of the most amusing easily-scaling party games I can come up with.
Blahblahblah. I could probably spin a fic from the premises, ending in the trouble trio covered in a tree-sap like substance. anyone viewing this want me to give that a go?
