Black Squirrel Date Log:
The dragons, a new gang of high school martial arts enthusiasts who lost their dojo in a simple financial matter. Their leader, Charles Blubottom. Alias, Jin Blu. Wishes he was Asian, earned three blackbelts from three different schools of martial arts, self proclaimed best fighter on the streets, current plan of operations is to band his fighter friends he's been rallying and training into a criminal gang for quick cash and popularity.
Littil adjusted his dragon vest, a homemade torn denim vest with a dragon symbol iron-printed on the back, before pulling up his black hood once more. The squirrel was small as always, but his training with Watchdog had turned him into a street brawler worthy of Jin's attention, so it was no problem sneaking up the ranks and spying on the new group. He had thought at first that this assignment would have been done in a few weeks, but just before he made his final reports, Watchdog stopped showing up to the League meetings. Without his orders, Watchdog's temporary second in command Hawkeye deemed it necessary to continue to remain undercover, and so he waited and took notes, waiting for his order to pull apart the gang from within.
Tonight it was planned for Jin to reveal his plans of crime to the lower 'warriors'. He had only shared his full plan with his 'five fingers', who were his four best fighters and his brother Jacob, alias Ryu. Littil, alias Black Squirrel, had become Jin's third greatest fighter, though he made sure everyone in the league knew it was only because the strongest fighter would look too suspicious. The five fingers and Jin stood in the center of a large one way dead end alley in the middle of downtown, waiting for more of their members to arrive before beginning. It seemed the dragons have had some good luck in finding willing groupies, the alley lined with almost three dozen boys in matching vests over their normal clothes. Littil had already checked his phone, making sure it was recording audio to capture the meeting, and stood with the rest of the leaders, his hood covering his eyes.
The meeting started out normally, the dragons all reciting a dumb rhyming chant in respect of their leader, and then Jin standing on top of a tall dumpster to tell his warriors the plan. They were all excited when he began his tales of noble samurai turning to crime to defeat the unbalanced power of the man, and some seemed scared until the others around them cheered. It was all just a group of untrained and uneducated brats thinking that they were becoming part of a power, and to a member of the League of the Watchdog, it was almost embarrassing.
But then, something changed. A car pulled up to the mouth of the alley. Jin had always paid the cops with his heavy allowance to turn a blind eye to this alley on his meeting nights, so it was very strange to see anyone out so late. The headlights were turned on bright, so it was difficult to tell, but it seemed one of the doors opened and shut, and then someone was walking towards them silhouetted in the bright lights. Whoever it was walked slowly but with purpose towards the five fingers and Jin between the rows of dragon members.
"So, a new recruit!" Jin called from the top of the dumpster, raising his voice to show his men that he didn't fear whoever it was. Littil, however, had a bad feeling about it all, so he took out his phone and put it onto video recording, backing up slightly. "Have you come to join the ranks of the dragon? You will have to fight a member of the five fingers and show your worth if you wish to join our gang!" The stranger walked a bit further before stopping. The eyes of the Black Squirrel were used to adjusting to light quickly, and before anyone else who this stranger was. His mask and paw-print insignia shirt gave it away. Littil gulped in surprise and confusion, backing up and out of sight. He wasn't supposed to just show up... they were supposed to stay in contact before any kind of action was taken.
"Step down." Watchdog's voice was simple, not like he was giving an order, just like he was reading a cue-card. "Step down. Your men work for a new leader as of now, Charles."
A murmur pushed through the crowd, anyone knowing Jin's real name knowing how much he hated it. The leader stomped his foot on the dumpster to shut his men up, and pointed at the hero. "You! Haha! You have no manners, it seems. No code of honor! It seems you'll have to fight my five fingers anyways! Seth, get him!"
Seth was a heavy-set husky and the weakest of the five fingers, though that did not make him weak to the average joe, and he was also way not above cheating. Littil held his camera steady at his side, making sure no one saw that he was catching everything on video. Seth walked forward and cracked his knuckled threateningly before pulling a butterfly knife out of his pocket, spinning it in his hand before clicking it fully open.
The crowd cheered for Seth, of course, but the fight was over in seconds after the punk made his first move. After posing and all for the crowd, Seth thrust forward with his knife to make a quick and simple fight over quickly, but Watchdog without much effort caught his hand and raised it out of the way. Even Littil could hear the crack of bone as Watchdog broke the boy's wrist with another twist, though he didn't want to think that the kid deserved it. He absolutely didn't deserve what happened next. Watchdog pulled the knife from Seth's limp fingers and quickly stabbed the blade into the kid's shoulder and then slashed it up, cutting off a bit of his pointy ear! Seth screamed in pain and fell to the ground gripping his wrist and laid there whimpering as the crowd went completely silent. Watchdog didn't even look at him, his eyes back on Jin as he flipped the blade shut, splashing drops of the husky's blood on his face. He tossed the closed knife onto Seth's chest as he walked by, closer to Jin.
Jin turned after only a second hesitation and looked at his guards. "Collin, Chris, E... where's Eric!?" Eric, Littil's false name for this assignment. The squirrel had made a hasty retreat as soon as he saw the fight actually go down, and climb half-way up the fire escape and hiding in a shadow as he continued to take video. Jin growled under his breath, and then pointed again. "Collin, Chris, get him now!"
The pair of cats nodded and quickly made their moves. One reached between some trash cans and came out with a bad, the other just holding up his fists. The bat-wielding fiend went first, swinging the bat hard with both hands at the intruder's head. Watchdog caught the bat in one hand just as the other fighter came up from behind, kicking him in the head. Watchdog barely moved as the kid's foot connected, only tilting his head with the blow. He reached out and slapped the punk in front of him in the ear, stunning him long enough to pull the bat away. He pulled the bat into his one hand and swung it straight into the guy's jaw. Two teeth fell to the ground along with the gang member, and then the bat fell next to him. Watchdog was now facing the second fellow. Chris. Chris gulped, but came back with another kick, which Watchdog blocked with yet again one arm. As the punk lowered his leg, Watchdog grabbed his hair and pulled him forward into a head butt, which left him bleeding and falling to the floor.
Watchdog turned to Jin and took another step towards him. "Step down, Charles."
One more guy stood next to Jin, his older brother Ryu. Ryu was shaking in his shoes, not anywhere near the fighters that the others were. He reached into his jacket and tried to pull out his handgun. It got caught in his pocket for only a second, but by the time he had the firearm in his hand, Watchdog had dashed in front of him and grabbed the gun. The large mutt twisted hard, easily breaking Ryu's finger inside of the trigger guard, and pulled the gun away. As Ryu grasped at his hand and tried to breathe through the shock, Watchdog swung his hand and caught the boy with the butt of the gun on his head. A moment after Ryu fell, a clip fell next to him, then another casing, and finally the broken and disassembled handgun.
"Charles." The once proud leader of the dragons looked down in fear and disbelief at his brother, and then up at their attacker. His eyes were shaking along with his hands. "Charles, step down. Next time, I'll use my own weapons." The masked mutt jumped onto the dumpster and stood tall over Jin. "Tell your men that these streets do not belong to you. Tell them that they have a new boss."
Jin wasn't about to be taking this from anyone. He was Jin Blu, leader of the toughest gang these streets have ever seen! He was the best fighter on these streets ever! He entered a fighting stance and prepared to lunge forward, but a loud very high pitched screech forced his hands to his ears! All the dogs in the crowd screamed, and Littil could just make out the electric dog-whistle in the mutt's hand. Watchdog turned it off just in time to kick Jin in the chest, sending him crashing into the brick wall behind him.
Watchdog turned and looked at the crowd of high school kids all wearing the same dragon vests. He scoffed and turned back towards Jin, kneeling next to him. Little couldn't see what he was doing, but the mutt stood back up and tossed one end of his leash-lasso high over a window's iron bars. As he walked towards the squirrels' fire escape, Littil could see that the loop of the lasso was around Jin's neck!
"You all heard me! These are not your streets! You are under new rule as of now!" The Watchdog strung his lasso through the fire escape and pulled it down, the weight of the latter hoisting Jin into the air. Jin quickly came to and struggled, grabbing around his neck to try and get a hold of the rope and pull himself up, but the loop didn't seem to get any looser. "If you try to defy me, I will come back for you." The hero then simply walked down the alley, back towards the car.
Before the car had pulled away, Littil jumped from his hiding spot to grab onto the rope of Watchdog's lasso. He pulled out a pocket knife and cut the rope before falling, kneeling by Jin who still was trying to get the rope off of his neck. The lasso had a new head on it, and it looked like a locking mechanism. The squirrel quickly found and pulled the latch, loosening the rope so that Jin could breathe!
Jin coughed and rolled onto his front, taking deep breaths of air before coughing more. "Y..." he could barely speak, his throat bruised where the rope had held him. "Where... where the hell were you!?"
"Had to pee... and then saving your ass." Littil helped the leader up, looking towards the mouth of the alley nervously. The car had gone, but what the hell was Watchdog thinking!?
"Gi....give me your phone. I have to call 911..."
"Yes, we need an ambulance, fast!"
"No... get the cops. I... hah... I want that masked FREAK behind bars!"
"Jin, are you crazy!? You need to get to a hospital, and your brother, and all the others!" Littil quickly pulled out his phone and got out of his recording before handing it to Jin.
"First the cops... i'll tell them to send an ambulance... The rest of you leave!!" as the group all scattered, Jin grinned. "Littil... I'll tell you because you're in the five fingers now... My dad is the DA. If i can get this guy in jail, he can send him to prison forever."
"Your dad?" Littil looked nervously on as his boss dialed 911. "I thought your dad was a professor at the university."
"My REAL dad, genius. My REAL dad is DA. This guy doesn't know what he's stepped into. Hello, yes, i need to report an assault on myself and my friends. He was armed and tried to kill me."
Littil stood up and looked back to where the car had been parked. He heard the groaning of the injured kids on the ground around him and bit his lip. As soon as he got his phone back, he needed to find White Squirrel. They needed to report this in as soon as possible.
