Okay. A clean picture for once featuring
sheer's sharks; Bastus and Macky and my shark, Samek.
I really love how this turned out, kudos to
Stagor55 for completing such a wonderful piece.
STORYMODE?
wrote something interesting that complimented the picture's premise.
The desert always hid many goods, and it would be news to hear roaming groups of bandits loot ancient ruins in the sandy hills. There was no telling what one could find under a spot that seemed nothing more than a rock buried in sand. This was what everyone thought. Mackie just overheard the bands discussing how to get back an ancient mecha found in what seemed just a natural sand crater by the north region.
There was no time to waste, it would only be a matter of a couple days before the Wolven Mechaniloid, after natural exposure from the recent windstorms, would be completely torn apart and sold off to the highest bidders for parts. News between bandits flew with ease, and it was just a matter of luck for the young shark to have captured the news while toying with the frequencies.
The path getting there was not easy - dodging the several dozen of bandit outposts belonging to rivals was no easy task in a land made of nothing but large plains of sand. Avoiding unwanted company and suspicion, it took them hours under the scorching sun, but the excitement for the potential discovery was immense - they couldn't let it go. This was the only thought in Bastus' mind.
Samek wouldn't usually partecipate to these salvage missions, but the stakes were a little too high this time. Who knows how many hundreds of thousands credits would the mecha fruit them if they were to not just sell it for parts - but be able to put it fully back together, and make it run again. History has often mentioned these relics of war, compared to newer models used as peacekeepers, as capable of tearing down whole armies within few minutes, and only a handful of them survived since. No, it wasn't just a lucrative matter now - it was the sheer sense of discovery of once in a lifetime, something so rare and unaccessible to be found right there.
The area was so eerily unguarded - the scraped surfaces from war and the blowing sand from so many years of being abandoned, the mech itself felt as if permeating with history and having a mystical aura, it seemed to drive off any unwanted guest on his own. Even the small Mackie, despite his sheer excitement, felt afraid of getting too close at first. But not Bas, as he immediately started to shove off with his bare hands the sand from what seemed to be an entrance port. It was so perfectly preserved despite the rough treatment of the scorching desert, it was literally a miracle.
Samek didn't trust the air around it - nor in all honesty ever understood the first thing about robotics and engineering, so he just preferred to stay away, with his gatling guns in case any unwanted guest would come over. They were gambling with too many rival collectors probably wanting to get their hands on this relic, and their only option was to be able to get it back to run right there, right that moment - there was no way a transportation big enough could reach the place undiscovered and bring the war machine away safely. Bastus waited no time, and immediately tackled upon his possibly greatest challenge yet.
Spares, tools, circuitry were carefully packed and brought - they only had a day or two at best, but no matter the harshest conditions of the land, they were going to try their best to get this job done.
Ahem. Again.
