I like to call myself an effort perfectionist, in which I'll only accept 100% of my effort on any task or not at all.

I must admit, I like him better like this instead of fully being a "toon". I don't mind if he does toony things, it is just for some reason I liked him better. I think it is the eyes and the outlines, but other than that I have trouble putting my finger on it.

I guess it is the difference in drawing styles then...

It looks a lot more like your pre-toon look, so maybe that is what is throwing me off.
