aww man I wanted to go to ECCC but I couldn't afford it! as for Sakuracon, I actually ended up going to very few...we tried the anime dating game (I believe?) but quickly left, we waited in line for the only homestuck panel which was then cancelled, and we dropped in on the Sunday my little pony panel, but my pals didn't want to stay as long as I wanted to. It was my first anime con and first large-scale con, so I was a little more fascinated by the overwhelming amount of people and social opportunities than the panels. I'd like to go to more next year though!
I'm sorry that you didn't make to most of the panels, but indeed, when I went to Sakuracon for the first time, I was so overwhelmed that I had no idea where or what to start with so I ended up just buying two artwork prints from the artist's alley. But I'm glad that you made friends and connections at that event! There's so much opportunity to meet people with similar interests, especially artists. Well, let's get prepared again for next year's Sakuracon otherwise the fall season Akicon!
