I've been watching old episodes of The Muppet Show lately. How many of our remember Swine Trek, one of the sketches that appeared regularly on the show, starring Link Hogthrob, Dr. Strangepork, and Ms. Piggy (dressed in guady silver lame & boots)? Wondering what might have happened if there had been a Swine Trek: The New Generation, I used this old pose to creat Lt. Pigelle. It occurs to me I ought to match her with a drawing of a porcine Data, but does the world really need plastic pork?

Enough people watch The Muppet Show that there are two seasons available now on DVD. I don't like the show as much as Fraggle Rock, but I can hardly get enough anyway. The only complaint is that the musical guests were pretty hit & miss. Too many have faded into history, and you wonder who the hell they are. And usually they were so middle of the road. No Velvet Underground or Talking Heads on The Muppet Show, nosiree...
Not many sexy pigs, period. Even in Ms. Piggy's case its more a matter of panache and personality than her good looks. Curiously, though, Ms. Piggy did grow slowly better looking over the four or five seasons and then the movies. Her original tight bun of a hair-do gave way to long flowing hair, and her eyes became more life-like as well.
Does anyone know if Ms. Piggy ever had a first name? (How about Porcina?)
