"The black armored Obsidian Knights are hero's to the peoples of Methkendalm. Once the noble guard of the warrior priestess, Cheranim, the Obsidian Order has long had a troubled past. Their order, after the first defeat of the Kimku by Cheranim, were disbanded briefly after her exile from the capital for her blasphemous preachings. Later, after the Kimku's return a mere handful of years later to conquer Methkendalm, their order was banished for over a millennium after their attempts to assassinate the pathetic Tsanli king and retake their beloved homeland. They were eventually reformed as a symbol by the would-be-king, Zudes Dowager, as a symbol of hope for the Tsanli people.
After succeeding in the elimination of yet another puppet king, Zudes reclaimed his homeland from the Kimku nobility who had kept the Tsanli people beneath the heel of the Kimku Empire for so very long and reconstituted the Obsidian Order as defenders of Methkendalm and her beloved people. Later, the order of the Obsidians would see the rise of a new commander, the young prince Garreth, and eventually, his second in command - a man most know only as "Wolf" (seen here wielding his blade). But Wolf, unlike the previous leaders of the order, would prove to be a temperamental man and his loyalty to the crown in dispute after the tragic and drawn out death of his loving wife. Now, stationed at the Dowager Wall - a great border erected to separate the Steppes of Ararda from the Wooaan of the western land - Wolf and his knights brood in boredom over their station, the removal of Prince Garreth from the capital and command of the knights, and the continuing decay of the society at large."
This is an experiment at digital painting. Took a few hours over two days of off and on work. Hope you enjoy. =)
