And Hell followed with them..
Depravity is from one of the alternate universes in Purity's timeline, a version of herself that was not gifted the power belt and abilities that would lead her to be a superheroine.
Indeed, Purity would seek power for noble intentions, to protect the innocent, to defeat evil... but her path took her down dark roads, the mare focusing her efforts on cultists of all stripes, interrogating them for their forbidden knowledge, teaching herself rituals and dark arts from moldy tomes.
In the end, power was what she always wanted... she summoned a succubus, a hellish fiend with the undying thirst for mortal souls and lust. But no bargain was made, no hellish pact. She bound the writhing, screaming demon to her own soul, fusing the two irrevocably so that unicorn and demon became one. Purity lay dead, that part of her soul consumed greedily by the succubus as the power-hungry mare rose from the shattered summoning circle, her body infused with corruption and the powers of hell as her mane and tail burst into flames. "Depravity.." she hissed as she staggered to her hooves, flexing her body, letting the sorcerous powers she had cultivated and unleashed flow freely.
"We are Depravity, Mistress of Corruption!"

She can be, yes. Quite the antithesis to Purity, too. Confident where Purity is unsure, cruel where the other unicorn is kind.
And with a hunger that can never quite be sated - whether it be for riches, power, or just the next soul to twist and devour so she can maintain the succubus in her thrall.

This is a very nice development indeed, though with how she got her powers YES, I may give her a wide berth. Loss of freedom, THAT would be true Hell for a demoness. But oh yes, I'm liking this a lot. I'm just wondering now if in her universe her foe is the Crimson Lady, this red doe angel from heaven....
Would you be surprised to find out I'm a big fan of the mirror universe Star Trek episodes, or the Crime Syndicate of America? ;D

Not really. The 'Mirror, Mirror' stuff for Star Trek was some of the best fiction I've read (which isn't saying much.... *eyes her pile of books wistfully*). And the alternate universe DC stuff is just really well done.
I haven't spent enough time catching up on old comics, so I glean some of it from watching the DC animated stuff that's been coming out of late.
RIP, Dwayne McDuffie, btw. The more I read about him, the more I regret not being as much of a comic-book fan when I was younger.
