f5, accidentally had a layer turned off
ref sheet for my character yum☆pop that I’ve been working on for at least a month or two in between other stuff. I apologize for the tl;dr amount of writing on there, I love simple ref sheets but I also want mine to be a one stop image for all the important stuff. I also made her a character page on nabyn that is a little more in-depth with her info.
some of you might remember yum was my first persona character from 2002 to around 2004. in the interest of nostalgia saturnine and I wanted to start drawing her and (plush/anthro) lolli★rot again, so I reworked her to make a character that I could enjoy drawing now that reflects more of my current interests and also updated her style while still retaining some of that over the top flair of her 2002 era self. just look at all that ridiculous shit in her ears haha. @3@ she’s kind of a mascot for the nostalgia that I have for our old art and the positive aspects of that part of my life. also another outlet for my love of fairy kei. *3* I wear it occasionally but I never really feel like “myself” in it in the way I do morigirl and classic lolita… so she is an alternative anthro character that can be used as me in more sparkle candy rainbow explosion type images where antique wouldn't know what to do with herself.
the clothing part of this took so long omg, and I thought antique’s style was detailed!

I am so in love with her already. <3
If Carlos didn't have a storyline she'd probably be a sort of secondary fursona and outlet for Fairy Kei and OTT sweet lolita, but I just couldn't make a character with a big storyline into a persona. I still think she represents that for me although I don't think I really have the balls to wear it (although I'm trying to get into it...what.)
I really love this design, so much ;-; I hope you draw her more. She's adorable. <3

i love this character's pretty/soft surface treatment (how she styles herself, her coloring etc) contrasted with her not so cute body (gnarly clawed feet, fairly realistic human hands, knobby knees, that rendered out eye down there)
had you chosen a cute style to draw her in like glossy slick cel or gradient shaded with more stylized anatomy there wouldnt be that conflict there, which i love. i feel it makes for another level of visual interest, for me at least.
