Just me trying to figure out how my tablet/digital art works. How does art is born? D:
A concept sketch for an artistic freedom boar(ish) costume. I have a hard time settling an anything until I am actually drawing the pattern on the duct tape dummy, but I really like this incarnation.. I never seem to ever do fluffy bellies so I wanted to add that in on this time since it adds to the 'solid brick shithouse' feel I want to encourage in this character :p
Was going to do red hooves but looking at this I wonder if they'd be better black? What do you think? ^_^
Done over a photo reference of the actual duct tape dummy involved. This is my 2nd attempt at this as the first one turned out so horrible.. so I read up a bit and then went with a much looser and more cathartic style.
I don't really know anything formal about drawing or painting so if you see anything really amateur or stupid about the colours or highlighting or whatever, let me know so I can learn.

I'd go for a medium, rusty brown for the hooves. Not dark enough to be mistaken for black, but a good blend for the orangey look of the fur.
Like, 660000 or 990000 HEX.

I donno why but I feel like coal grey hooves with red 'rust' blotch look would really compliment the body. Sort of like this but in reverse. https://s3.amazonaws.com/assets.svp.....ge/1412476.jpg
