well whatever it is.. the weather patterns are just changing thats for sure... last while wee been seeing a lot more extream weather, like severe storms and stuff... last couple years we had more tornadoes here, than there was for the last 15 years.!!... last year i witnessed one while in the car driving at night.... weather got ugly really fast, and the lightning.... was like a stroblight or something.. was hard to drive.. and all of a sudden the rain starts lifting off the pavement.. that just plain creepy witnessing that... lol
that not good...
last year we had a few small ones go through Saskatchewan here.. two of them touched down fairly close to my place... infact i kinda saw the one touch down.. i was driving the car late at night.. it the most creepy thing when you driving and you start to see the rain lifting off the pavement....... and i think just about every fourth day last year i would see several funnel clouds...

I know here in California they were expecting new snow in the Sierras. Not unheard of, but not typical either.
NOAA forecast: AN UNSEASONABLY COLD LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM CONTINUES MOVING INTO

OF RAIN, SNOW, AND SMALL HAIL THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING. ACROSS
THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF NORTHEAST CALIFORNIA AND THE SIERRA, SNOW
SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE OVERNIGHT AND SATURDAY WITH ACCUMULATIONS UP
