Eh yes and no. There are those that have those types of outfits and there are those that are similar to what I have on. The idea behind Steampunk, from what I've looked up and the way I understand it, is that the combustion engine was never invented and that steam is still in use.
and really, I've always looked at steampunk from the technological side of things, with the idea that it was about - as I said - stuff cobbled together from various technologies / eras...and never really understood how that would change the clothing styles of a steampunk culture.
I love black on black on black, I don't know what everyone else is talking about :O I think this looks great! Some people look like they are Indiana Jones with goggles~ If people do it well, it can look good, but really - it's just like, a nice victorian feel but with chunk metal tech! This is simple and sleek~
