For and 's 100 Theme Challenge~

Artist Statement
The theme for this image is 'truce'. I've been struggling with this one for ages, trying to find an image that comes from me rather than just spewing out a cliche to get it over with. After quite a lot of thinking, I decided to focus on a particular truce that I struggle with every day--the truce between the mind and world around it. We make truces with ourselves every day when it comes to how we perceive life and the world. Sometimes we make too many concessions though, we blindfold ourselves against what we don't want to see, sew our mouths shut to keep in the things we want to say but aren't brave enough/don't want to to avoid offending people. Unfortunately, when you make that kind of truce with yourself, it simply will not hold, and all of the things you hold inside rot and turn into poison that, one way or another, will force its way out.
