This is Blaze, a giant dragon plush commissioned by http://www.furaffinity.net/user/blazeignitus
- He is 39" long from nose to tail.
- The horns, eyes, and claws were sculpted from various materials and the head is solid foam.
- The head is too heavy to stand up on it's own, so he rests it on his paws.
- The scales/spikes/spines on the back and neck are made from the same fleece as most of the body.
- Wings have an endoskeleton made from various gauges of wire, allowing them to be folded up or extended (this should not be done often, and handled gently, as the wire will ware down and possibly compromise seams).
- He's held together with hot glue stitches for all seams except the ones that give shape/lines to the paws.
Though it may not be perfect, I am proud of this challenging project's outcome. :D
Notice: This plush was sold at an introductory rate. Hand crafted, it took an extreme amount of time and work to complete. Any previous prices for work of this quality do not apply from this point forward. (i.e. I made less than minimum wage making this and can't afford to do it again at that rate. Sorry.)

How much do plushes cost? I checked your price sheet here:http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2758599/ and couldn't find anything about it :(
It depends on the size, level of detail, and materials used.
This one cost around $200 and took quite some time to complete.
Here's the invoice to get an idea of what you are paying for:
- $20 for fleece (Black and Red, for body/wings)
- $2 for long pile fur samples (small amount of black fur for dragon's facial hair)
- $11 to ship material from Sy Fabrics to me
- $15 for stuffing and foam (to stuff the body and sculpt the head)
- $20 for sculpting materials and wire (Horns, claws, eyes, and wings)
- $25 shipping from Missouri to New York
- $100 artist's fee for high detail work
The cheapest/simplest thing I can produce right now is a "tribble" (Baseball sized fur ball) since I have tons of fur scraps for about $10+ shipping.

Keep in mind sometimes the size can be deceiving as far as price goes. I's really more about the materials and work involved.
For example, it would have cost the same amount to buy materials for this 39" dragon as for a 10" one, since I still needed to buy minimal supplies like a full yard of fabric for each color, a block of clay, a spool of wire, etc. A smaller plush would only mean less shipping. If this were a less detailed commission (say a 12" Pikachu), I would only need $10 for yellow fleece, and $5 for scraps of black, brown, and red for the markings, A few dollars for button eyes and other materials like glue, thread, and wire for the tail, about $22 for material shipping and shipping the plush to you, and since it's a fairly simple design, it would only be an artist's fee of $50. So it would be half the cost of this dragon.

Ah, okay. I didn't factor in the amount of material that they make you buy! I was wanting a dog plush with bright green fur and a white stomach/face/paws maybe around 6 inches. More floppy like a beanie baby or something of that nature. I'll definitely keep you in mind, because I've been browsing around for quality to cost ratios and so far yours looks like some of the best quality I've seen.
Thanks for the compliment ^__^
I buy almost all my fabrics from http://www.syfabrics.com
They have the best shipping prices and quality fabrics that I know of (and I've sampled a lot of companies' fabrics).
Plush fabric price basically goes up as the fabrics get softer/fluffier.
- No-pill Fleece (smooth Muppet material like this dragon) is only $5 for a yard (about 3'x5')
- Cuddle fur or Minky Fleece (soft plushy materials found in most plushies in stores) is about $10-11
- Long Pile fur (Fluffy, with actual volume to it that can be styled or trimmed for fursuits) is about $24
Multiply the cost of your fabric of choice by the number of colors needed +11 for shipping it from Sy to me.
(i.e. $24 for 1 yard of green Long Pile, $10 for white Minky Fleece, $11 to ship)
A dog would have eyes/nose/mouth. Easilly custom created for $5. If the dog's markings are no more difficult than a husky, the charge would be about $30 artist fee + shipping to your house (probably $10 for a flat-rate USPS box).
You would be looking at about $79, but I could also make the plush as large as those 2 yards of fabric would allow.... so the cost would vary only a little to go from a beanie baby size to something a lot larger (mostly just shipping and glue).
I know, it's a lot to think about and deal with for just a stuffed toy ^____^

Assuming your dragon's design uses 2 colors like this one (Purple and pink instead of Black and Red), a plush like this would start around $200.
Shipping internationally can be a huge cost when it comes to anything large like this. The cost of shipping would depend on the country you live in
and the service the Post Office or parcel services offer.

I made them.
How to make claws:
- Black Kato or Sculpey (PolyClay)
Sculpt them and bake them as the package instructs.
- Black paint
Paint them with a 2-3 coats, letting each coat dry before adding a new one.
- Mod Podge GLOSS finish
Paint them with a GLOSS finish like Mod Podge or some other clear coat that will harden and protect plus make them shiny.
