Here we are waiting for the fireworks. We waited for a long time so that we could have a good spot, but as soon as the fireworks started, Tikaani was like, "F-This!" and made for the parking lot.

My entire life I have only met 1 dog that was not afraid of fireworks and thats the Golden I currently have testing for a service dog. Our neighbor fired one off over out heads on the 4th and Midas did not break his sit/stay. Heres hoping my semi-retired service dog does not teach him to fear them.
I personally love mutts. So much variety. Though Tikaani is "our" dog, technically he's my mate's dog. Down the road when my job will allow me a little more freedom to do so, I want to adopt a rescue mutt. When I lived in LA, one of my roommates adopted a rescue mutt that was a gshep mix. We think he was part Chow because his tongue was pink with patches of blue. Anyway, he was the sweetest dog, but he had been abused by his previous owners, so he needed some rehabilitation. We worked with him, loved him. By the end he was a (somewhat) normal, playful boy. It was a really rewarding experience that I'd like to do again.
