Awww, Dragon Sparkle is so cute! ^^ Though, why is she now dragonified? Did she do that to herself on accident trying to cure Rarity or did the "affliction" spread to her from Rarity? Does this mean that Dragon Sparkle will now find herself getting pregnant? Will this spread to ALL the ponies?! Will the twist ending be that this is all being done by the evil mastermind known as Spike?! *dun, dun, dun*

She was Dragonified for the same reason that Rarity was, large concentration of magic and having to carry dragon-eggs. She was always one - just hidden behind an aura of magic - though it is the same spell she was 'failing' to do to Rarity.

1. Spike impregnates Twilight(pony)

3. Spike impregnates Rarity(pony)
4. Twilight at full term (no visible change ) Rarity is showing (Pony) ( First pic of the series)
5. Twilight lays eggs, which are put into the Royal Hatchery (Unseen)
6. Rarity progresses, become aware something is off - smoke coming out of her (Beginning TF )( 3nd pic )
7. More progression of pregnancy, and development of Scales - Seeks Twilight's help ( unseen )
8. Twilight tries to figure out a spell to mask Rarity's TF, but is absolutely failing at it, something that would be relativity simple for her ( Rarity is close to being half dragon)( 4th pic )
9. After an unsuccessful night Rarity leaves hoping Twilight can figure something out
10. Twilight reassures her friend. Owlicious looks upon, who has been replaced by part of MPL insanity. Filters are engaged to diffused optical illusions magic, upon which We see a Dragon Twilight, (she was fully changed post egg laying, has been hiding behind an illusion ) Luna's role in this is still unknown ( Current Picture )

Ho-oh-oh, SNAP. Not exactly sure why Luna would want Rarity to stay un-glamoured, but I'm just gonna figure her motives for this skullduggery are sketchy at best. Another coup attempt, this time with the Elements inactive on account of their hosts' change (and one of 'em in cahoots), possibly backed by a strike force of rapid-aged drakelings?

In other news, this is actually pretty close to what I'd visualize for an optimal dracopony fusion. Spiffy spines & horns, subtle facial alteration, and a nicely-proportioned tail...speaking of which, interesting retention of said appendage's hair. Finally, I actually prefer Twi's new ventral plating to the rounded scales from the series' previous pic for a rather superficial reason: said discs didn't flatter Dat Belly(C) quite so well to my admittedly warped perspective. At any rate, good show, sir.

Interesting point of view on the matter or Luna very interesting.

I wanted to keep the mane and tail hair since it is used to identify a pony as much as their marks. Though the placement still alludes me for where the tail hair begins and ends but for now we'll keep it at her rump. As for the scales Rarity's had just started their growth so they appear different from Twi's. Yet it depends on ones perspective as well - I thought it brought our her roundness rather then flattening.

Final notes regarding scales...well, (a) first & foremost, you're the artist, so take my ramblings with a bucket of salt; (b) gotta admit, I'm more partial to the ventral line/bellybutton combo when it comes to womb-centric pics; and © I suppose at that early stage of scute development a little awkwardness is inevitable. Apologies if I got a touch peevish there.

Hmm....might I recommend either extending the tail-mane to said appendage's tip and/or tossing in a tail-tip spearhead/thagomizer/prickly bit of choice?

Kirin is an interesting aspect to consider but i see more a dragon/horse hybrid. Is that called a Kirin - maybe, i'll let the viewers decide

I always thought a kirin's like...a dragon horse...or well actually it's a chinese dragon unicorn hybrid...thing :P

to my reference a Kirin is more deerish then horse but also the horn, does that come from a unicorn or part of the chinese dragon?

Despite the statues in china, drawings i have seen make them more thin and agile like a deer, and not that big - with MLP since they are relatively small the connection can be easily made compared to a normal horse.

well, it's often...depicted differently depending on the people, but yes, the single horn is based on them being basically a draconic unicorn, but again it varies depending on who draws them really, but basically...if it's a cross between a dragon and a unicorn...it's a kirin, kirin normally have like a lower half of a deer or something like that, but half of them is draconic but as I said...depends on the artist~
