I've always wondered what kind of movie industry they have in Equestria, they seem to at least have the technology around for B&W sound movies, so I guess they could have a Hollyhoof somewhere. When I write my fanfics and need a movie reference, my baseline is that any genre around during or before the Golden Age of Hollywood is fair game. So they'd prolly have sci-fi or Adventure serials, universal horror movies, westerns, (tough not Spagetti Westerns) and maybe some good ol' fashioned film noir (man, I wanna see THAT! ) tough prolly not things like pony grindhouse or pony blockbusters.
