i'm -seriously- loving your approach to conbadges. there's something about them that's so unique and eyecatching. then again, that can be said about all your art. :3

They've been an experiment in color and layers I swear. ;p Been sketching them, then inking them, then scanning and cleaning them up a bit. Thankfully with using inks I don't have near the cleaning process as I would when I do just pencil lines. Also not as many gray layers, but a lot of color layers. I think I cut and pasted that one coin 186 times, so at one point I had 187 layers, not counting the ones I'd already flattened. ._. The pearls were a trick I did I long time ago, they're just a basic paintbrush option in photoshop. I found myself wanting to do more with this one but I'm soooo lacking in extra time to work on things I had to cut back on my wants a bit.
Oh! And did you want to be a pirate? The convention's theme is Critters on the High Seas but that doesn't necessarily mean pirates. :D I don't know why, but when I think of doing yours I think of a cowboy in a duster... on a surf board. c_c

but shoot. there go my surprise plans for you and savannah. i might as well spill the beans and tell you that i'm working on a series of little pokey connector badges with arph as the captain, aya as the captive, and blondie as the wench ♥ you have no idea how happy it makes me that people associate me with cowboys and surfboards and all the things that are special to me. askdlaskljd. gosssh, i'm blushing.
WHICH REMINDS ME, we did something for you while she was here! i'm still working on it and its going painfully slow, but i'd totally forgot to scan it beforehand and now's a better time than never. i'm gunna play with it tonight when i can get at the kitchen table. the boy i live with is kind of messy and has tons of crap everywhere and that's the only place i have good light to work on real-media. ;__;
