This is an illustration for the last short story in the string I'd been working on. I was going to wait until I finished to story to post this, but the picture's been waiting long enough, and such a grand picture shouldn't be collecting dust.
Dark far exceeded my expectations, going above and beyond what I had asked for. Much love for Dark; I've always been happy with what I get.
For those wondering, that's Butterfly Weed she's planting amongst her old roses, often used to say "Let me go". In her hair no longer is the single red rose, but a King Protea, a species of flower over 300 million years old. It's often used as a symbol of strength. It seemed so wonderfully appropriate for the character who's always symbolized strength for me.
For those who might just recall pictures of her in the past (Now you can find them in my scraps), she used to wear red, silver, and black. Such dark and dreary colors in the long run, it was time for a change. Time to go back to her old colors. From now on, expect to find her in green, gold and white. Far more suiting for a creature with such an affinity toward plants.
And yes, once funds allow, expect to see far more of her in the future.
