He's working on the iron flute. More something for in case he needs a weapon, and it'll help him cultivate his artistic side too. He doesn't have the intellect for poetry, and that would make his atavisms more difficult if he worked on them, so something to be unintelligent, yet artistic. It sounds nice too.
