A Dranth's ultimate form is that of a Talgonite Dragon - a colossal beast of mythical proportions and mind-boggling physiology. The bulk of their scales are composed of Talgonite, a strange, purple hued metal with tremendous atomic weight and density, capable of withstanding not only the unforgiving chill of the void of space, but the inferno of atmospheric entry as well. But the most fascinating part of the Talgonite Dragon's biology is not the massive amount of metal encasing their form, but their secondary circulatory system.
One circulatory system is fairly normal, as normal as a circulatory system can be for a creature so staggering large; their secondary system is, in fact, crystalline in structure. The intimate details of this system are a mystery, but there is obvious relation to the dragon's internal crystalline veins and the massive, azure blue gemstones decorating its frame. The crystal network serves as focal points for the dragon's internal 'dynamos' - living beings that it has taken into itself on its voyage, allowing them to consciously reside inside the beast as pure energy, providing a symbiotic relationship that allows the dragon to traverse the near endless reaches of space.
When the Talgonite Dragon reaches a suitable, hospitable and, importantly, life-bearing planet, it will revert to that of its Dranth form to begin the rebuilding process - feeding from the emotions that emanate from the planet's denizens while searching for its 'passengers' that are jettisoned from its post-atmospheric entrance. Only when the Dranth has regained its strength, found its 'dynamos', if not also enlisting the aid of some of the willing natives, it will return to its eternal journey among the stars, seeking out and experiencing all of existence.
