General rating

Baseball Squid lived for the crack of the bat. He loved the sensation of soaring through the air and the roar of the crowd when he was a homerun. But despite his happiness, he was never quite content. He always wanted to be the one to hit a homerun. He found a baseball keychain, started practicing, and went up to the plate to show them he could hit one out of the park.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if it would work. I was holding the blank gessobord square crooked, and thought, hey, looks like a baseball diamond! Perfect!

Yes, it's debatable. Sometimes I have to make the tough call instead of calling it "Vague Baseball Cephalopod." Especially with sports-equipment-shaped cephalopods. Tricky buggers.

For some reason your squid-pics always bring little phrases to my mind, and in this case it's a definite "Why I oughta..!"

Thanks! It's on wood-cradled board. A friend suggested I cut in half those little souvenier bats and glue them to the wood. Great idea, but it would end badly, with my fingers on the floor. ;\

This reminds me of startropics (a classic NES game) because it looks simmilar to one of the enemies, that the baseball bat was really good at killing,,,, and now one is back for revenge.

Reminds me of the baseball in the movie 'Everyone's Hero'... he wanted to be a home run ball :)

Take me out to the squidgame...

I'd never heard of that movie - not sure how I missed it! I love the little baseball wearing the bow.

It looks like something you would see on a pack of big league chew. I have many fond memories of seeing how much of that gum would fit in my mouth at once.

The composition is fantastic. Not that I didn't love your octopi already.

Thanks! I think the diamond-orientation of the square worked out nicely. I wasn't sure it would, composition-wise.
